Hey, I am so excited to be here today.
We are talking about the five social media content hacks for you to totally explode your business online.
If we are meeting for the first time, my name is Brandy Shaver, and I'm excited about today because having content out there is super important.
I started out in this industry in business entrepreneurship as someone doing it old school.
Two and a half years after doing that, I finally evaluated my business and decided that something needed to change. Lots of people ask me how I went from that point, right to where I am now, where I built a couple of seven figure businesses, since that point.
And the one thing that changed for me was social media.
This is a place where I could build an audience of people that knew, liked, and trusted me faster.
It was not driving around.
It was not leaving my family.
I could do it from home and I could do it around my own time.
So I'm going to teach you today, the five social media hacks that you can do with your content to make your life so much easier.
Number one is planning. Now, this was hard for me because I'm not a planner. I'm kind of a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl. So let me know if you're the same or if you've ever felt the same that you're like, oh crap, it's 10 o'clock at night and I forgot to post!
What you want to do with planning your content is you want to have five to seven different content buckets. There's seven days in the week. Right? We want different content buckets going out.
We don't want to just talk about our products every day.
We don't want to just talk about our family every day.
We want to be a well-rounded person.
So you've got to plan your content and I usually take an hour on Sunday nights or Saturday mornings, or just whenever, really that I have the time, but I do block it into my calendar where I plan content or go over the content that I have.
So planning, that's number one content hack to keep you rolling and going.
The next one is Consistency.
So consistency is you posting daily on your social media.
Now I don't care what platform you use, right? Every platform is a little bit different. You have to get familiar with the platform that you're using. You can build an audience on any platform, just pick one, but get consistent.
Once you pick one and get consistent and start to build a following, that's when you can branch out or do the next two things later that we're going to talk about.
The next one is scheduling in advance…now on different social media platforms you can schedule and some of them you can't, so you kind of just have to work with what you've got.
If you're working with a page, let's say on Facebook, like a fan page, you can schedule content in advance. A group, you can schedule content in advance. Your personal profile, not so much. You've got to be able to post so have a time in your calendar where you're going to post.
Scheduling in advance is super important. That is definitely number three for content hacks, especially if you're running a group because you've got your personal social media, you got other things going on and if you've got groups, then you definitely want to schedule your content and that goes back to planning, right?
So if you know what to plan or what you're going to post, you're not so stressed out about what's happening with your content and you can stay consistent with it.
Now repurposing is my favorite. So let's talk about repurposing.
Repurposing is when you find content or maybe see content that really inspires you or you think my perfect prospect would really love this, right?
This would stand out for them. You are going to save that content somewhere. You don't have to worry about it. Then later you can repurpose that content.
Now what do I mean by repurpose? Let's say you watch this video and you don't copy it exactly. My video word for word.
But you can take the content and put your own spin on it and share it with other people. Just make sure that you don't ever copy and paste.
That's actually a bonus hack for you. Don't ever copy and paste someone else's content.
The other thing is if you're copying and pasting, from someone that you know & respect and they see it, they are going to be unhappy!
I've actually done it. I’m totally guilty of this.
I was called out and I felt really, really bad about it.
So don't get lazy, like I did at one point and copy and paste somebody's content because yeah. It's not you, it doesn't come off as you, because it's not your content. So repurposing other people's content is great.
Just make sure you change it up and it's in your words.
The next one is recycling.
So this is really, really fun.
I love recycling content and there's a couple of ways that you can do this. I do most of mine on Facebook, so when you go into memories, you can see what you've posted the same day, the year before.
And if you think you can do it in stories as well. I think Instagram might have the same kind of thing where you can see memories. I think I've seen it somewhere, but use your posts that have worked and recycle them.
You can use a new picture. You can add to the post. You can, you know, even if it's a quote that you posted, you could take that quote and just type it into the top and then add a picture instead of just having the quote, or you could turn it into a question, right?
Start to think in your mind how can I recycle content and really the cool part about recycling content is as you post more and more and more, you're going to understand what works and what doesn't for your audience. You can start to build a content library that's really highly engaging for your audience.
The only way to do that is by continuing to post, but then saving your recycled content. So you can also put your content inside of a Trello board or something like that if you want to get super organized with it. That's also another tidbit for you.
That's what I have for you today with the social media content hacks.
