November awareness
Thanksgiving and gratitude (and perhaps Black Friday greed) are not the only themes of November. This crisp and cool month is home to a number of awareness causes
November national days
Kindness, Cashback, Take a Hike and more all fall in the month of November
Celebrate entrepreneurship
Stories about your Journey and struggles
You could even interview an entrepreneur in your field or a related one. Many of the lessons in entrepreneurship can be applied to life in general, so your audience will come away with plenty of wisdom and inspiration.
Support Movember
- While June is men's health awareness month, Movember, or No-Shave November, is a movement where men grow out their mustache until the end of the month to raise awareness and donations for men’s health issues.
Encourage others to give back
As you give back to the community in any Thanksgiving charity runs, food drives, or fundraising events, encourage your customers, local audience, and social media followers to do the same.
Small Business Saturday
What November marketing ideas post would be complete without a #SBS section? This is perhaps the best time of year to get your small business noticed, bring back dormant customers, and attract new ones.
Women's Entrepreneurship Day Nov 19

Holiday Business Struggles
This could be a discussion around the pain points you experience or pain points your team is experiencing especially during the holiday.
Research Hashtags
To be competitive on Instagram, find hashtags that are relevant to your niche that you will be able to “Trend” in IE if you are a smaller brand, just starting out, try not to pick larger market hashtags. Focus instead on a mix of small to medium sized hashtags that you will be able to trend in.
Set a goal to have all of your content created BEFORE the month begins.
If you do not know about promotions, new products, ect this is fine, but you can focus on the things you know will be coming like your day to day content, your brand specific content
When growing on social media a great way to increase your reach is to use Pinterest.
When you create content, simply share that content to pinterest.
Use words in your captions that your perfect prospect might search for.
Short form video content does really well for this, so it is an opportunity to share reels or tiktoks related to your business.
Create a basic formula for your instagram and facebook stories.
This can vary depending on your niche.
An example would be 2 stories per day
- 1 inspirational quote
- 1 piece from another content bucket and assign the content bucket topics to each day of the week.
For TikTok and Reels accounts perform better with a strong tag line in the first 3 seconds.
Examples of a strong tag line are “Message” “ This question is for X if you’re not X keep scrolling” “You’ve got to stop doing X if you want to Y”
For your email marketing Try leading with these 3 attention grabbing Subject Lines
- The Secret of __________
- Here is a Method That is Helping [Target audience] to [Benefit you can provide]
- [number] Ways To [action] Your [blank] Without Having To [action] [item]
Your social media channels should provide value to your audience, and one of the easiest ways to do this is by publishing practical tips. Brainstorm a list of practical tips related to your industry and turn them into several different types of content:
- Post the tips directly to Twitter
- Write your tips out on a simple one-color background and post the images to Instagram
- Create videos of you demonstrating each tip and post them to YouTube or Instagram Stories
- Compile all of your tips into an infographic and share it across social media channels
Consider Newsjacking
You are newsjacking when you leverage a particular event or news for your marketing purposes. Here is a quick example from PooPourri, a company that produces “toilet perfume”.
In all of their Tweets, they have these small jokes in the wording of the text. In this example, they are leveraging the upcoming voting. There is a lot of news that you can use like that, it is just important to newsjack only the ones that are not controversial or otherwise polarizing for your audience.
Create Shareable Content
Everyone wants to make another Bella Poarch video, but that is the part of the social media marketing that is closer to alchemy. We are more about actionable tips and real results. So here is a quick example to illustrate what we mean.
SEO Statistic Case Study
Ahrefs is a SaaS platform that helps digital marketers to navigate in SEO. Needless to say that they are in a very narrow market.
In July 2020 they decided to make an experiment and created an updated version of SEO Statistics. It is well compiled and nicely presented. The content itself is a collection of data from Backlinko, Hubspot, etc. In 6 month they:
- Created 3 case studies on Youtube, getting around 50k views in total.
- Promoted it on their native social media platforms.
- Received over 260 dofollow backlinks, 50 of them over 70 in domain rank.
If you create a unique piece of content and give it an initial marketing push – you will get exposure. Ahrefs was able to achieve it in its narrow niche and it can be also done in other niches.
Strive For Virality
Did you know that July 31st is National Avocado Day? Chipotle took charge of it in 2020 by combining a song about avocado and a free guac offer. They launched a hashtag #guacdance. This combination yielded 250,000 video submissions with that particular tag and 430 million views.
