The Problem with Traditional Network Marketing Posts

When it comes to boosting sales in network marketing, one of the biggest struggles many face is hearing “crickets” after posting about products on social media.

You know the feeling – it’s like being outside on a quiet night with nothing but the sound of crickets in the background.

If that sounds familiar, this is for you!

A big part of the problem lies in the way network marketers are traditionally taught to post on social media.

The common advice is to continuously promote your product or opportunity, pushing it out there again and again.

For top leaders with massive audiences, this can work.

They have loyal fans who are engaged with everything they post, so when they promote something, it resonates.

But for the average network marketer, this approach simply doesn’t deliver results.

It often feels like you’re just bombarding people with ads, and let’s face it – no one likes to be constantly sold to.

Think about how you react when you see an endless stream of advertisements.

If you’re like most people, it’s a major turn-off.

Posting non-stop about your products on social media without offering anything more doesn’t build connections.

Instead, it can push people away, leaving them disengaged and uninterested.

The focus becomes all about the sale, with little room for authentic connection.

And that’s where many network marketers are missing the mark – relying on a strategy that works for a small group but leaves the majority struggling to get any traction.

Social Media Should Be About Connection, Not Sales

Have you ever been watching your favorite show, and then the commercials hit?

Suddenly, you’re making a cup of coffee, scrolling on your phone, or fast-forwarding through the ads if you’re lucky enough to have it recorded.

That’s exactly what happens when your social media feed is full of nothing but product posts—it becomes easy to ignore.

When all you post is promotional content, you’re missing a huge opportunity.

Social media is about letting people into your life and building a relationship with them.

The saying goes, “People do business with people they know, like, and trust.”

If all you’re doing is posting about your products or business, there’s no room for that personal connection to grow.

This is where “commission breath” comes in.

If your audience feels like every post is about making a sale, it’s off-putting.

You’re constantly searching for more sales, but your audience sees right through it.

Eventually, they’ll become desensitized to your content and start tuning you out.

So, how do you stand out in a crowded social media feed? How do you stop hearing crickets every time you post?

Instead of focusing on promotion, focus on connection.

Let people get to know the real you.

Share your story, your life, and the things you’re passionate about.

When your audience feels like they can relate to you, they’re much more likely to trust you—and trust leads to business.

It’s time to rethink your approach.

By building relationships and sharing authentically, you’ll not only avoid commission breath, but you’ll also create a community of people who want to engage with you and, eventually, buy from you.

Shifting to Relationship Marketing and the Importance of Adapting to Trends

So, how do you stand out in the noisy world of social media?

A big part of succeeding on these platforms, especially when you're trying to grow your network marketing business, is understanding the shifts in marketing trends.

Around 2017 or 2018, there was a noticeable shift in how people were engaging with businesses online.

The focus moved away from direct selling and started leaning towards building relationships and providing value.

At Beach Boss Influencers, we've been teaching this approach since we launched in 2020, but even before then, we were using these same strategies to grow our own personal brands.

We saw the changes happening in social media and realized that if we wanted to continue to grow, we needed to adapt.

And that's the key here: social media is always evolving.

What worked a few months ago might not work today, and it's important to stay on top of those changes.

One of the biggest shifts we've noticed is that consumers now prefer authentic interactions over traditional sales pitches.

No one goes online hoping to be sold to, but they do go online to buy – and they prefer to buy from people they like, know, and trust.

That's why content marketing, storytelling, and video marketing are now essential tools for engaging your audience.

If you're not using storytelling or focusing on building relationships in your marketing strategy, you're leaving a massive chunk of potential business on the table.

Networking is about building trust and providing value, not pushing products in DMs.

To keep growing your business, it's vital to pay attention to trends, adapt to what’s working, and always focus on building real, lasting relationships with your audience.

Key Strategies to Stand Out on Social Media

One of the first things we teach our students is to stop posting about their products on social media.

This can be confusing and frustrating at first, especially if you've been told to promote your products constantly.

Traditional network marketing teaches that you should post about your product multiple times a day, showing off the bottle and sharing branded company photos.

While this works for top leaders with large audiences, it doesn’t work as well for those just starting out or without a large, loyal following.

So, what should you do instead?

It’s not about hiding the fact that you’re selling something—it’s about changing your approach.

Social media is meant to be social, not a platform for constant advertisements.

People don’t log onto Instagram or TikTok to buy insurance, they go on to socialize, learn something new, or be entertained.

That means you need to create content that fits into those expectations.

Focus on being social, engaging, and entertaining, while still letting people know you have something to offer.

Remember, people do business with those they know, like, and trust, so building relationships is crucial.

It’s easier than ever to do this on social media.

Start small by engaging with people’s posts, leaving thoughtful comments, and showing genuine interest in them.

Another strategy we love is our Customer Blitz.

It's a revamped version of the old Facebook party.

Instead of making people feel awkward about joining, our Customer Blitz events are fun, engaging, and interactive, with participants winning prizes and bringing friends.

It’s an effective way to boost sales without feeling pushy or salesy.

By focusing on connection, engagement, and providing value, you’ll find that social media can be a powerful tool to grow your business without relying solely on product posts.

Success Stories and Proof of Concept

At Beach Boss Influencers, we’ve seen incredible transformations in our community.

Take one of our students Tina, for example.

When she first joined us, she was ranked around number 15 in her company.

She started from scratch, downloading our free lead magnet. After seeing the value, she joined our organic program and later moved up to our high-level program, 7-Figure Influencer.

In less than a year, she skyrocketed to the number one spot in her company.

That’s the power of the strategies we teach!

Then there's another of our students Corissa, who was really struggling to get her team moving.

She didn’t quite understand how to bring everything together on social media to grow her audience.

Like many of you might be thinking, Corissa thought our approach sounded “too good to be true” at first.

She took advantage of our free offer, then upgraded to our Academy program, where she learned our organic roadmap.

By following our Daily Mode of Operation (DMO) and content creation strategies step by step, Corissa’s business completely took off.

Now, Corissa earns close to five figures a month as an affiliate, and her network marketing business is thriving too.

But it wasn’t just about the strategies.

What really made the difference was shifting her mindset.

That’s something we focus on at Beach Boss Influencers—helping you grow as a leader while mastering the practical steps.

These stories show that success isn’t just about the tactics; it’s about consistently applying them and rethinking your approach.

With the right mindset and support, you can stop struggling and start seeing the same kind of results as Tina and Corissa.
