Warm, woody cinnamon scent.

Festive, flickering lights.

Heartfelt, joyous carols.

And network marketing recruiting.

One of those things doesn’t seem to fit, right?

Wrong.

The holiday season is a great opportunity to recruit new prospects to join your business.

Let’s see what the winter wonderland does for your recruiting strategy.

Why You Need to Recruit During the Holiday Season

The holiday season has seven big advantages over other times of the year when it comes to recruiting. Let’s have a little chat about them.

1. Tax Write-Offs

As the end of the calendar year approaches, some people are very conscious about their taxable income for the past 365 days.

One way to decrease that amount is a write-off.

Whenever someone joins or starts a business, that investment is a tax write-off.

So, the money they invest in their business when they join you can be written off for that year if they sign the dotted line before December 31.

This can be a game-changer for some of your recruits.

2. Tight Budgets

‘Tis the season for full hearts and empty wallets.

Everyone seems to be a little strapped for cash come December.

Show your prospects what a blessing your network marketing business has been to you during the holiday season.

It’s one thing to preach about having a stress-free December in the middle of June, but when you catch your potential recruits in their desires for an increased income, they may be more receptive.

They may even want to start immediately and try to catch a few last-minute shoppers with your product.

3. Potential Gifts

When your prospects realize the value your product has during the holiday frenzy, they might be more eager to jump on board with you.

You can even use it to break the ice for someone you think may be interested in joining. Here’s an example:

“Hi, Sarah. I wanted to reach out to let you know about the holiday special our company is running. Our products make such great gifts, especially for hard-to-shop-for people!

It’s actually one of the reasons I joined because I knew I could get a discount on all the gifts I needed to buy for my family. And it’s more than covered the cost of my entire holiday season.

Let me know if you would like more information about joining my team.”

When your prospects see that you really get products moving this time of year, it can be really encouraging.

4. Reflection

With a new year on the horizon, many people become contemplative about their lives.

A lot of people rededicate themselves to finding new and improved ways to provide for themselves.

Your recruitment of them could be an answer to an inward longing they have had.

You could catch them as they set resolutions for themselves to improve their financial situation.

5. Seasonal Promotions

A lot of network marketing businesses will offer special discounts to their customers during the holiday season.

Sometimes, these promotions even include discounts for joining as a recruit.

Offering these discounts to your customers can entice them to become a member of your team.

6. Social Events

The holidays are nonstop with social events.

Any type of social gathering is a possibility for recruitment, but don’t head out the door hoping to sign a new prospect.

Instead, focus on fostering genuine relationships and connections with people.

If offering your products or possibilities feels too forced, you probably need to work on your friendship first.

Showing others that you care about them as individuals, not just as a possible downline, helps them feel validated and seen.

If someone wants to talk shop while you’re there, go for it.

But don’t bring it up at the beginning of every conversation.

7. Jumpstart

If you pause your business during the holiday season, it might be hard to pick it back up after January hits.

Don’t let your momentum slow down.

You might have to work things a little differently than other times of the year, but you can still build your network marketing business during the holidays.

With all the seeds you have sown in December, come January you can start to see where your December work made a difference.

Instead of trying to play catch up when the new year starts, you can hit the ground running.

So, while treetops glisten and children listen to hear sleigh bells in the snow, don’t stop recruiting.

You may be pleasantly surprised who you can find this time of year.
