The first thing we’d do? Slow down and do the homework.

When we first started, we didn’t think twice about the company we were joining.

Maybe a friend introduced us, and it felt like the right thing to do.

But let’s be real—this is your business, and you have to treat it like one.

Start by investigating the company.

Is it financially stable? Has it been around for at least five years?

We know the idea of joining a “ground-floor opportunity” sounds exciting, but there’s a lot of risk involved.

Many new companies don’t even make it through their first year.

You don’t want to pour your heart into building something only for it to vanish.

Another critical step is getting under the hood.

Meet the leadership team, ask tough questions, and understand their systems and processes.

If you’re intimidated by this, remember: this is your livelihood.

Be bold. Call the company, fly out if needed, and see what they’re about.

You can even choose your upline—so make sure you’re aligning with leaders who will support you and match your goals.

Next, check if the company or your team has systems and processes in place.

Are there duplicatable systems that will help you and your team succeed?

Building these from scratch takes time, money, and a lot of trial and error.

If you find a company with solid systems in place, you’ve hit the jackpot.

Finally, understand the compensation plan.

It’s tempting to skip over this part if numbers aren’t your thing, but it’s vital to know how you’ll get paid.

How easy is it to rank advance?

Are there too many hoops to jump through?

Think long-term.

If you’re working hard to reach the top rank, will the payoff match your efforts?

The Future is Digital: Building Your Brand Online

If we had to start over, we’d skip the coffee shop meet-ups and elevator pitches and head straight to the digital space.

The reality is most people spend 6–8 hours a day on their phones.

To reach them, you need to show up online.

The first step?

Build your brand and start growing a warm audience.

Forget spamming your friends and family.

Focus on creating content that speaks to your ideal prospect.

Be authentic—don’t fake it or try to be someone you’re not.

People crave real connections in today’s world, and your authenticity will set you apart.

Take it a step further by setting up automation.

Use tools that let you speak to many people at once, like email funnels or live videos.

And don’t forget to nurture genuine relationships—whether it’s one-on-one or through automation, always let your true self shine through.
