Why Network Marketers Need a Niche

You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea.

And that’s just fine.

You don’t need to please everyone; you just need to find your people.

What’s the easiest way to find your people?

In niches.

What is a niche?

Where can you find one?

How will finding niche communities be helpful to your business?

And how, exactly, do you pronounce “niche?”

You are in the right place if you have any of these questions. Buckle up; we’ve got a lot of ground to cover.

What is a Niche?

A niche is a group of like-minded people.

The internet makes it possible for niches to gather in communities online.

Whether it is a group of readers dissecting the themes of “Where the Crawdads Sing,” movie buffs analyzing the latest Marvel casting choices, or D and D players showing off their figurines, wherever there’s a hobby, there are people who want to talk about it.

And the internet is where they go to do that.

Individuals can belong to multiple niches.

This is why they are so valuable to you as a network marketer.

All your potential prospects are gathering together.

Once you find an applicable niche, you’ve found a gold mine.

Where Can You Find a Niche?

How can you go about finding an online niche community?

First, think about your Perfect Prospect Avatar (PPA).

Think about what makes them tick. Think about their pains, their joys, their struggles, and their triumphs.

Think about what they love.

Think about what they do every day.

Find those places online.

Here are some of the best places to look for niche communities:

Social Media

Facebook groups are bursting with potential.

You can find groups on Facebook for nearly anything, from people who enjoy crunching on leaves when walking to community groups for a specific demographic area.

Remember that each group has its own rules, so before you start promoting yourself or your products, ensure you follow all group guidelines, or you’ll risk an admin kicking you out.

Network marketing on Facebook is effective, so you will want to stay active in as many applicable groups as you can.

Look for groups that target your industry or audience.

LinkedIn is another valuable social media network marketing platform.

Other apps, like Instagram or TikTok, don’t have places where communities can gather, but you can find your people through the clever use of applicable hashtags.

Online Forums

Reddit forums and Quora spaces are the perfect space to find a group of people that have similar interests.

Look for subreddits that will be applicable to your PPA.

Your PPA might be parents of young children. Instead of looking for a subreddit just on the broad topic of parenthood, find a different way to get there.

Is there a “Bluey Parents” page?

This group of people will most likely have young children.

Content Platforms

Spaces like YouTube and Medium can attract similar people, too.

They might not be congregating like they do in Facebook groups or individual subreddits.

However, you can bet that the comment section of Medium’s articles or YouTube’s videos is its own niche community.

Know what your target audience consumes. Find them there.

How Are Niches Helpful to Network Marketing?

Now you know what a niche is and where to find it, what does that mean for you and your business?

Quite a bit, actually.

You can utilize niche audiences to target the exact demographic you are after.

This helps you create content specific to that niche and get it in front of the right eyes.

You can have 2 million views on a reel, but that won’t translate to sales or recruits if it’s in front of the wrong audience.

When you find your corner of the internet, you can create content that will speak directly to their pain points. You’ll have a better grasp of what kind of content they would appreciate.

Say It

Apparently, whether you pronounce it “neesh” or “nitch,” you are correct. Both are acceptable ways to say it.

Say it with confidence, and you won’t be questioned.

So, Whose “Tea” Are You?

You already know you’re not everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s okay.

Your job is to go out and attract the right kind of people.

Keep referring back to your PPA. Imagine them with every decision you make about your business.

When you find the niche on the internet that really resonates with you and your content, you will unlock a whole new level of possibilities for yourself.

Keep searching. You’ll find your niche. You’ll find your people.

And they will drink up because you will be their cup of tea.
