The Permission Trap: Why You’re Still Stuck

Let’s be real… if you're stuck in your business, it's probably not because you're lazy or unmotivated.

It’s because you’re still waiting for someone to give you the green light.

Most of us have been wired from an early age to ask for permission.

You needed permission to speak in class, permission to use the restroom, permission to turn in homework late.

And that carried right into adulthood: do a good job, get good grades, go to college, land a job where someone tells you what to do next.

You were conditioned to stay in a box, follow the rules, and wait for direction.

But here’s the thing: when you step into the world of entrepreneurship—especially as a network marketer or coach—nobody’s coming to tell you what to do.

YOU are the boss now.

And that shift? It’s HARD.

They come in eager, motivated, and often say: “Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

And in the beginning, that’s normal. You’re learning a new skill set.

But the magic happens when you stop needing step-by-step approval and start trusting your gut.

The only way to know if something works?

Do it. Try it. Test it. Evaluate it.

That’s when the real CEO inside you starts to show up.

Because indecision is still a decision—just not the one that’s going to move you forward.

The Employee Mindset vs. CEO Energy

If you’ve spent your whole life being an employee, flipping the switch to entrepreneur isn't going to happen overnight.

And that's okay.

But you do have to flip it.

Employees are trained to follow orders, avoid risk, and wait for direction.

Entrepreneurs? We break rules, trust our instincts, and take messy, imperfect action.

If that scares you—good.

You’re right where you’re supposed to be.

We always tell our community: entrepreneurs are rule breakers.

You’re already thinking outside the box simply by deciding to build a business.

That in itself is massive.

But it can feel like we slide back into that employee mindset the moment something new or scary comes up.

Like “I need to ask my upline first,” or “What if I get it wrong?”

But guess what?

You ARE the upline now. You ARE the boss.

There is no right or wrong—there’s only action and evaluation.

We recently launched a platform and our marketing team gave us a list of 100 reasons why it wasn’t the best time.

We agreed with the list… and did it anyway.

And what happened?

We learned SO much.

That data is now gold we use to improve.

That’s the difference between staying stuck and moving forward.

The Real Enemies: Overthinking, Perfectionism & Procrastination

Here’s the truth: most entrepreneurs don’t fail because their strategy is wrong.

They fail because fear takes the wheel.

And fear wears a LOT of disguises: overthinking, procrastination, and perfectionism.

Sound familiar?

You start a plan, but get lost in “what ifs.”

You rewrite the same post ten times and never hit publish.

You wait for the perfect timing, the perfect funnel, the perfect strategy… and before you know it, you haven’t taken a single step.

We’ve seen it. We’ve BEEN there.

And it’s heartbreaking when someone quits before they even begin.

Because they were too busy overthinking how to start.

Here’s your permission slip: you don’t need one.

We say this with so much love: perfect is poor.

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned on our journey is that nothing will ever work the exact same way for two people.

You can clone someone’s funnel, post the same content, and follow the same scripts—but you’ll still get different results.

Why? Because YOU are different.

And that’s the power. That’s your edge.

You HAVE to test, track, tweak, and try again.

That’s CEO energy. That’s how you grow.

We can’t give you feedback on a plan you haven’t implemented.

We can’t guide a process that’s only in your head.

Until you put people through your offer, post your content, launch your thing—you’re operating on emotion, not data.

So this is your wake-up call. Your rally cry. Your no-more-asking moment.

Go take the shot. Break a few rules. Be okay with not knowing the outcome.

Learn. Tweak. Keep going.
