The 5 BIGGEST MISTAKES Network Marketers Make And How To Avoid Them

Beach Boss Influencers

Hello! I’m Kat Krasilnikov and I'm one of the Beach Boss Influencers.

The Beach Boss Influencers is an amazing coaching community for marketers and entrepreneurs, where we teach you how to build your business a hundred percent online using social media, without chasing prospects. We teach you how to attract them and how to become an influencer.

In this training, I'm going to be talking about

five mistakes most network marketers make that keep them stuck

Now, I'm not going to be judging anyone here. I've made these mistakes myself! but I've learned, and I want to tell you what to avoid and what to do instead. Are you excited? Let's get started.

1. Thinking everyone is your prospect

This is probably the biggest mistake  we see in a lot of new network marketers or old-school network marketers. Mistake number one is thinking that everyone is your prospect.

I was taught it as the number one rule in traditional network marketing - don't prejudge people, share your products and your opportunity with everyone. You never know.

You've probably been there. You've probably been told this advice and you probably followed it.

How did it go for you?

I'm not going to argue that it doesn't work. It totally does work, but what kind of price do you have to pay for this concept?

If you follow it your data says that in order for you to get one yes, you have to get 99 nos.

It's statistics and it's true.😲

The problem with that is there are many people who have mastered that skillset and they can convert every -  let's say - fifth prospect, but it took them years to master that skill set. And not everyone can do that.

An average network marketer, an average person cannot do that.

This leads to tons and tons of rejection!

Which leads to another problem- that is the majority of people will quit on NO number three. Nobody ever gets to no number 99 or a hundred. Nobody ever gets to the yes.

That's why a lot of people quit without seeing any results, his process is very painful and takes a lot of effort. You need to have thick skin and you need to have great skills. Most people don't have it. It's not unlearnable, it's totally learnable, but it takes a long time.

Learn how to identify who your perfect prospects are, where they hang out, and how to attract them to you. So you don't even have to chase anyone at all.

2.Focusing on the end result

A lot of us - and I'm guilty as well, when we become so involved in this industry, we focus on the end result and the end result is sales in your recruits.

That's what we want.

A lot of people chasing around with dollar signs, with that hidden agenda. When they connect with people, when they communicate with people, all they want is to sell and it's that commission motive that can be smelled a mile away and we humans can feel it on a subconscious level.

So instead of focusing on the end result - the sale (the new recruits), you need to be focusing on how to master the skills that will get you that result.

So essentially, you have to divorce the results and marry the process

So instead of thinking how can I make more money, how can I get more sales, how can I recruit more people.

You need to be thinking how can I be posting better content, how can I be making better, more engaging live videos, how can I communicate better with people on a human level.

That's the kind of skill sets you need to be working on.

So not the end result, and the result will absolutely come. It's like a side effect.

It's a very powerful side effect of focusing on the skills.

3. Your product is not your attractor factor - YOU ARE.

If you want to attract people, you need to know that your products, your opportunity, and your company are not your attractor factors.

This is a huge one for many people because they don't understand why - how can I sell my products?

If I don't talk about my products, how can I recruit people?

If I don't tell them what company it is and what it does?

So what is your attractor factor?

If you think that your company or your products is what attracts people to you, then what makes you different from hundreds of thousands of distributors who are selling the exact same thing?

This is not your attractor factor.

Your real attractor factor is YOU and how you can help people.

 People want to know:

▪ What is your story?

▪ What is your journey?

▪ What struggles have you been through along the way?

▪ What makes you more attractive than just sharing how amazing your products are?

Your products and your company become just a bonus.

Therefore, your main attractor factor is you.

You need to figure out how to promote yourself as a people helper rather than a salesperson. So learn how to promote yourself and your products and your company will become a bonus, an amazing bonus for those people who want to get more information from you.

4. DO NOT ignore the power of a passive follow up.

How many of you love follow up?

How many of you have heard the magic is in full follow up, right?

And we all kind of hate it because we feel like we're bugging people. They already told us no, they’re not interested. Not right now. Can't afford it. It's not what I thought it was, it’s a subscription. No, no, no, no, no. And we leave people alone thinking that we've done our follow up, or I don't wanna follow up that way. I don't want to be bugging people and we kind of stop.

There is another magic tool that is actually more powerful than active follow up

I call it passive follow up.

So if you show up in their newsfeed with a question or with a post, they'll be like, oh my gosh, I remember a message from that girl. And I didn't answer it. I need to go and answer it or I need to reply to it, or I need to watch it. You come back into their focus.

You become visible and you remind those people of yourself.

That's the passive follow up.

Three ways you can passively follow up with people without feeling like you’re bugging them:

1. You can tag them in the valuable information that you have provided to someone else.

2. You can message them about your video or about your post or about your story.

3. Comment on their stuff.

Let's say, if you did a video on how to make drinks that help you to lose weight. If you made some valuable video and you know that this person has expressed their dissatisfaction with not being able to lose weight or have expressed their desire to, then they need help with losing weight.

They might have said no, I can't buy it right now.

You're not trying to sell anymore, you're just tagging them and saying, Hey, Susie, I just did a video on how to blank without blank. I thought it might be helpful to you.

You're providing value.

You're showing up on their post. You're giving them love. You're engaging with them.

You remind them of yourself and your relationship with the person and that you still care about them.

This is a very powerful concept. Some marketers don't even know about passive follow up. They only think about how can I make a sale, how I can get those people to buy.

So tag those people in your valuable content that they want to see, and you will see what it will do for you.

So passive follow up is a thing. It's a very powerful tool and it's ignored.

5. Thinking its a sprint, It's a marathon.

A lot of network marketers think that it's a sprint.

That you join the industry, you take the products, and they're amazing. You tell to all your friends and family about it. They're going to buy it. They're going to join your team. And you’re going to climb to the top really fast. Or you find that rockstar who’s going to blow it up for you and boom.

I call this microwave mentality.

If you want real success, you need to know that it's not a sprint. It's a marathon.

Yeah, some people make one post and they make a hundred sales. But guess what? It's not the rule. It's the exception to the rule. It's not duplicable for the majority of people.

It takes months and years to master those skill sets, master the skill of growing networks and connecting with those networks.

It takes time. It's going to take time to get to the top, but it's absolutely worth it.

So these are my five mistakes. Let's go over it very quickly:

  • First, not everyone is your prospect.
  • Second, instead of focusing on the end result, you should be focusing on the process to get there.
  • Number three is that your product is not your attractor factor - You are.
  • Number four, do not ignore the power of a passive follow up.
  • Number five, get rid of the microwave mentality. It's a marathon. It's a long journey, not only of mastering the skill set, but also personal growth.

Comment below and let me know which one is your favorite, which one you had no clue about and which one grabbed your attention and you think you need to work on that part.

I hope you got value and I will see you next time.

Hello? Hello. My name is Ken Koff. I’m one of the beach boss. Influencers is an amazing coaching community for marketers and entrepreneurs, where we teach you how to build your business a hundred percent online using social media, without chasing prospects. We teach you how to attract them and how to become an influencer. So in is video, I’m gonna be talking about five mistakes. Most network marketers make that keeps them stuck. So, first of all, let me know who you are, where you’re coming in from. Say hello. I would love to know what kind people are watching my videos. And I will say hello later. So let’s get started. So five mistakes and I’m not gonna be judging anyone here. I’ve made those mistakes myself, but I’ve learned, and I wanna tell you what to avoid and what to do instead. So are you excited? let’s get started.

So mistake number one. And it’s probably the biggest one in a lot of new network marketers or old school network. Marketers don’t even know what I’m talking about. So mistake number one, thinking that everyone is your prospect. I was taught it as number one, number one rule in traditional network marketing don’t pre judge people, um, share your products, your opportunity with everyone. You never know. Um, you’ve probably been there. You’ve probably been told this advice and you probably followed it. So how did it go for you? I’m not gonna argue that it doesn’t work. It totally does work, but here, what kind of price you have to pay for this, uh, concept? If you follow it everyone is your data says that in order for you to get one, yes, you have to get 99 nos it’s statistics and it’s true. Um, the problem with that, there are many people who have mastered that skillset and they can convert every let’s say fifth.

Uh, it is gonna be yes, not every hundreds, but it took them years to master that skillset. And not everyone can do that. Average network marketer, average person cannot do that. So it will take you 99 nos to get one yes, tons and tons of rejection. And problem with that, majority of people will quit on no number three, nobody ever gets to know number 99 or a hundred. Nobody ever gets to the yes. That’s why a lot of people quit without seeing any results. Because this process is very painful, takes a lot of effort. You need to have thick skin and you need to have a great skills. Most of the people don’t have it. It’s not unlearnable, it’s totally learnable, but it takes long time. Instead of being the prospect and chasing everyone and facing that rejection, you can learn, uh, how to attract people to you, but not how to attract anyone, how to attract your perfect prospects, people who already looking for what you offering. And we teach exactly how to do that. Step by step inside of our community, you can check it out at beach bus, influencers.com or grab a link above or below this video. And you will get some sort tool or resource on how you can learn more, how to do that. It’s very powerful and it’s completely different strategy. So learn how learn to identify who your perfect prospects are, where they hang out and how to attract them to you. So you don’t even have to chase anyone at all. So mistake number two. Oh, before I move forward, let me know if that makes sense to you. Let me know if you would like to start attracting people who actually want what you’re offering. so mistake number two.

Oh, this one is kind of like big one. Also I’m sharing the, with you guys, big mistakes, like big . They’re very important. So number two, a lot of us, and I’m guilty as well. When we, um, become so involved in this industry, we focus on the end result and the end result is sales in your recruits. That’s what we want. and a lot of people chasing around with dollar signs, with hidden agenda. When they connect with people, when they communicate with people, all they want is to sell and it’s that commission breath can be smelled a mile away and we, humans can feel it on subconscious level. It’s weird at how we wired. We can feel it right away and it repels us. So instead of focusing on the end, result the sale, the new recruits. You need to be focusing on how to master the skills that will get you that result.

So technically you have to divorce the results and marry the process. So instead of thinking how I can make more money, how I can get more sales, how I can recruit more people, you need to be thinking how I can be posting a better content, how I can be making a better, more engaging live videos, how I can communicate better with people on human level. That’s kind of skill sets you need to be working on. So not the, and, and the result it will come absolutely will come. It’s like what they call it, uh, side effect. , it’s a very powerful side effect of you, uh, focusing on the skills. So this is mistake. Number two, we’re moving onto mistake. Number three is also huge one it’s giant. So if you want to attract people, you need to know that your products, your opportunity and your company is not your attract factor.

So this is huge one for many people it’s they don’t understand how come, how can I sell my products? If I don’t talk about my products, how can I recruit people? If I don’t tell them what company it is and what it does so, yeah, I get it. I totally get it. So what is your attractive factor? So if you think that your company or your products is what attracts people to you, then what makes you different than hundreds of thousand distributors who are selling exact same thing. This is not your at attract factor. Your real at attract factor is you and how you can help people. What is your story? What is your journey? What struggles you’ve been through along the way, uh, what journey so far you’ve been on sharing that, making you more attractive than just sharing how amazing your products are and your products and your company becomes just a bonus.

And your main at attractor factor is you. And you need to figure out how to promote yourself as a people helper. rather than a salesperson. So learn how to promote yourself and your products and your company will become a bonus, an amazing bonus for those people who want to get more information from you. So this is mistake. Number three, your company is not your attractive factor or your products, although they’re amazing. I’m not arguing with that either. They are amazing, but it’s not what attracts people to you. So, period, when moving on to mistake, number four, Ooh, mistake, number four. I love that one. So how many of you love follow up? How many of you I’ve heard the magic is in full follow up, right? And we all kind of hate it because we feel like we’re bugging people. They already told us, no, I’m not interested.

Not right now. Can’t afford it. It’s not what I thought it was is a, is a subscription. No, no, no, no, no. And we leave people alone thinking that we’ve done our follow up, or I don’t wanna follow up that way. I don’t wanna be bugging people and we kinda stop, but there is another magic tool that it’s actually more powerful than active follow up. I call it passive follow up. And I’m gonna give you three ways how you can passively follow up with people without feeling like you bugging them. And what I mean by passive follow up, because on social media, uh, you in front of people all the time, right? And you might have follow up on them actively. You send them a message. Have you watched my video? What do you th
ink about it? You didn’t get any reply from people doesn’t mean they’re not interested.
Uh, people get busy. And if you, you show up in their newsfeed with a question or with a post, they’ll be like, oh my gosh, I remember a message from that girl. And I didn’t answer it. I need to go and answer it or I need to reply it, or I need to watch it. You come back to their, um, what do you visible? You become visible and you remind of yourself to those people. That’s this passive follow up. So how you can passively follow up with people. Uh, you can tag them in the valuable information that you have provided to someone else. Let’s say, if you did a video on how to, um, I don’t know, make drinks that help you to lose weight. Let’s put it that way. if you made some valuable video and you know that this person express their pain of not being able to lose weight or express their desire, then they need help and losing weight.

And they said, no, I can’t buy it right now. Or they ignored you, right? You’re not trying to sell anymore. You’re just tagging them and saying, Hey, Susie, I just did a video on how to blank without blank. I thought it might be helpful to you. You’re providing value. You’re reminding those people of yourself. And when their problem arise again in their head, they will be thinking of you that you can help them. It’s a very powerful tool and it’s ignored. It’s like people don’t even know that it exists is passive follow up. So tag those people in your valuable content that they wanna see, and you will see what it will do for you. So second way, how you can passively follow up with people. Not only you can tag them in your video, you can message them about your video or about your post or about your story.

But it has to be valuable content, not salesy content. You can say, Hey, Susie, uh, you messaging them. So instead of tagging them, you not messaging them, hit Susie. I hope you’re having a good day. I just did a video on how to blank without blank. Uh, here’s the link. If you wanna check it out, that’s it. Let me know if you have questions or I would love you to watch it. It’s, you know, it’s, it’s fun. It’s good stuff. Kind of like this in the third way. It’s my favorite. How you can passively follow up with people is to comment on their stuff. You’re showing up on their post. You’ve giving them love, engaging with them, but not like, um, there’s some engagement that it’s kind of like, I don’t people don’t put a lot of effort in it when they comment. This is great.

This is fine. Good morning. Have a good day. Uh, yes, no, a hundred percent. Those short answers that everyone, it’s not gonna make you visible this way, because everyone’s doing that. But if you leave a meaningful comment on someone else’s post like one sentence, but you really mean what you’re saying, trying to, you know, express your opinion, give you advice, or just kinda like, uh, lift people up, uh, compliment them. That’s what’s gonna make you notice. And this way they will say, oh my God, uh, cat is, you know, so amazing. She gave me this nice tip or she shared how she struggled with that thing. I remember she sent me a message a couple of weeks ago and I forgot to reply. Or she sent me a video to watch and I didn’t watch it. I better go and watch it. Now you remind of yourself to other people.

Not necessarily. You remind them to buy something. You just remind of yourself and your relationship with the person and that you still care about them. This is very powerful concept. And some marketers don’t even know about passive follow up. They only think about how I can make a sale. how I can get those people to buy . So passive follow up is a thing. And it’s a very powerful thing. And the last one, the mistake, number five, a lot of network marketers, think that, uh, it’s um, sprint that you join the industry, you take the products. They’re amazing. You tell about it to all your friends and family. They’re gonna buy it. They’re gonna join your team. And you gonna climb to the top really fast. Or you find that rockstar who gonna explode it for you and boom. So I call it microwave mentality.

Yes, we do want to bank money. And if it is a great right way to make money quickly, but if you want real success, you need to know that it’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon. Yeah. Some people that make one post and they make hundred sales. But guess what? It’s not the rule. It’s the exception of the rule. It’s not duplicatable for majority of people. It takes month and years to master those skill sets, master the skill of growing networks and connecting with those networks. It takes time. So you need to know that this is a marathon. It’s gonna take time to get to the top, but it’s absolutely worth it. So this is my five mistakes for let, let’s go over it very quick. For first one, not everyone is your prospect. Second one. Instead of focusing on the end result, you should be focusing on the process to get there.

Number three is your product is not your attractive factor. You are . Um, number four, do not ignore a passive follow up. Number five, um, get rid of microwave mentality. It’s a marathon. It’s a long journey. Not only of mastering the skillset, but also personal growth. So this is my five mistakes and five tips. Let me know which one is your favorite, which one you had no clue about and which one kinda like grabbed your attention and you think you need to work on that part. So this is it from me. I hope you got value and I will see you next time.
