The Missing Piece of the Puzzle

Building a business can be a challenging and at times an unenjoyable experience.

For so long, we've been learning from so many male mentors and we love them. They're awesome. They've helped us immensely.

But there's a piece that's been missing for a long time.

There's no area for fun. There's no place for us to enjoy the process.

Many women feel inauthentic and burnt out, like they are putting on a facade, because they have been taught to approach business in a specific, rigid way.

But what if we changed the way we thought about building a business and infused more fun into it?

Business Led by Men: A One-Sided Approach

What is having women in business burn out and get frustrated about this journey that they don't feel like they're authentic first and foremost?

Men lead from a different point of view.

The traditional approach to business, which has been primarily led by men, has been heavily focused on time management and productivity.

We see women really struggling with that work life balance that was being forced on to them as they were told that this is how life goes.

This is how digital marketing goes. This is how building online goes.

But we know there's something missing.

This approach may not resonate with women who have children to focus on also.

The Life-Work Balance

This is where the concept of life-work balance comes in, and how women approach business differently from men.

Women need to honor their authentic selves, prioritize what's important to them, and still be able to produce the income needed to support their families.

Family, friends and life is more important to the female. This is not to say it is not important to the male, they both just display a different relationship with it.

It's highlighted differently.

The Feminine Energy in Business Leadership

The feminine energy of leading is displayed in more of a caring, nurturing way, which men also have!

This is not an either or. This is not us against them.

We've been in the masculine leadership style for so long, how do we add back in that feminine style to soften us?

To give us back our voice and our authenticity?

Thinking of this can lead us to complete burnout and frustration.

A lot of female business owners get to this point where they're constantly doing, and they may or may not be seeing results.

But even if they are seeing results, there's so much burnout that can come when they're just constantly doing.

They’re constantly focusing from a place of what do they do next, instead of enjoying the journey of what they are actually creating.

And there is competition behind it. It's like it's us against them. And it's always like this.

Instead, why don't we just celebrated each other?

What if we just got an opportunity to like cheer each other on? And celebrate every little win that everybody gets.

The challenge for women has been how to balance their lives and businesses, while still being successful.

The solution is not to completely abandon the traditional approach, but to infuse a more nurturing, feminine energy into it.

This creates a balance between the masculine and feminine approaches to business and helps women to lead with authenticity and purpose. The goal is to lead with feminine energy, rather than trying to blend the masculine into the feminine.

Blending Masculine and Feminine Energy

Many believe that if you're a man, you have masculine energy. If you're a woman, you have feminine energy.

But each person has both.

We have essence of feminine and masculine, and a lot of women right now who are in the business field are channeling more masculine energy because that's what we think will help us to thrive and survive.

And a lot of times we forget how to incorporate our feminine energy into the business world, and in doing so we forget that it's contagious and attractive. It's fun, it's nurturing, it's compassionate, it's empathetic.

Masculine energy is more analytical and logical. And that's great. We need that.

We still need that structure.

But naturally this energy also creates more of a competitive environment, and so we start being competitive with each other.

So it’s important to remember that when women celebrate each other, it's pretty amazing and beautiful to see.

It's okay to acknowledge each other and be supportive of each other.

Because the business world can be so hard, and masculine driven energy for women can be naturally exhausting.

So take the time to really think about it, feel it, and enjoy it!

Leading with feminine energy means taking the time to enjoy the journey and appreciate the process of building a business.

It means creating an environment that prioritizes joy, creativity, and relationships. Women should focus on what they are creating, rather than constantly thinking about what they need to do next.

Reconnecting with Yourself: Enjoying the Journey

Get reconnected with yourself.

Fall in love again with yourself.

What's the reason that you wanted a business in the first place?

Dive back in, fall in love with yourself and then fall back in love with your business again.

We live in the world where we have so many expectations and we know what's expected of us as a mother, as a worker, as a wife, and we actually lose a sight of who we really are.

We know what our kids want, our partners, our boss, but what is it that we want?

We all come to this journey wanting to make more money, but why do you want more money?

It’s the reason behind our intentions. That's what's important.

Do you want more confidence or acceptance?

And usually what we seeking from the outer world, we need to give it to ourselves. It has to come from us.

Look for collaboration and first and foremost, always look to yourself.

Start reaching out to other women and start finding out what's really so in the world and it's going to change your life.

All right. Hello everyone. And my name is Garrett c co-founder of Beach Bus Influencers. And today I have some amazing guests with me, the founders of Truth Bomb Marketing. Did I say it right? . I have Karen, chef Katrina, and Heidi with me. And we are going to talk about incredible things that going to help many female entrepreneurs, not just women entrepreneurs. There’s a lot of men who can relate to what we’re gonna be talking as well. So we don’t wanna, um, outcast them, , we, we wanna include them as well. So ladies, I want you to kind of introduce yourself and tell our audience what are you all about and what we’re gonna be talking about today.

Yes, Karen? Yeah, let’s do this. So, um, as she said, my name is Karen. Um, we started with Truth Bomb about three months ago, and we, all three of us came together after having built our own businesses, and we were kind of tired of doing it by ourself. We were tired of how much we had been working and not, not seeing the results maybe that we wanted to. Um, we were, we were just doing it all on our own, and we were all three of us tired of it. And, um, I remember clearest day because this was just, this was so huge for me that, um, Katrina, one day you were talking about truth bomb, you’d ha you’d been building truth bomb for about a year prior. And I feel like there was just like, there was direction, but it was like, I don’t know if this is really what I wanna do, kind of thing.

And I came to you and was like, what if we did this together? Like, what would that look like? And I know when you looked at me, I, I like, there was like, I don’t think she’s gonna say yes. Like she, she looks like it’s a no. And I’m like, whatever I asked, it’s okay. And then later that night, we got really happy having a good time, and you, Katrina were, were like, well, what if we did this business together? What if we had more fun in building our business? And that’s really what truth bomb for us has been. How can we help give back to esp, especially females, give back to females and bring the fun back into building our businesses. For so long, we’ve been learning from so many male, male mentors and we love ’em. They’re awesome. They’ve helped us immensely. I know, I don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t had some of my male mentors, but there’s a piece that’s been missing for a long time when a man says, okay, do this, do this, do this, do this, do this. There’s no area for fun. There’s no place for us to enjoy the process. Like they always say, when you go to any event, you should enjoy the journey, enjoy the process. And it’s like, how nobody, like, we’re not doing that. Like nobody’s Telling you nobody’s how Yeah.

yours. Exactly. And so all three of us got together and we were like, how can we have more fun? And how can we bring the female energy of fun play and still getting shit done? Because that’s what we do, and still do what we wanna do and, and build a business that we actually love instead of something that feels like a drain after a while. Because that’s, I know that’s what’s been happening for me. It’s started to feel like a drain. So, Heidi, what’s up ? What’s up ?

Um, I’m not sure. What were you going with? No, I said you’re next. I’m next . Um, I guess for, okay, so for me, um, was building my business, but I basically hated it. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Didn’t, um, nothing. It’s like in this kind of, she, she doesn’t like when I say this, but it’s the truth. It kind of set off a transition for me because she, Katrina asked me a question one time about what do you want your business to look like? And I had no answer for her because the business I was, I was building was like, I was, it was, I was doing everything and somewhat enjoyed it, but mostly hated it. I dreaded working on it. Um, I made every excuse under the sun not to, I came up with 500 projects that I had to work on, and so I could avoid the business.
But, um, after a lot of I of just reflection and ta basically taking time out of the business, basically stopping doing anything and realizing it was like why I dreaded it so much. And I think a lot of what came up was, was because everything, it, I changed my who I was when I went to do my business. It was like I thought about and I reflected about how I lived my life and how I homeschooled my kids. And when you’re, when you’re homeschooling you’re kids, it’s like you think, okay, this is school time. This is, but for us, it wasn’t for us. It was what we did. It was our lifestyle. Everything, everything we did homeschool was incorporated into it. Whether we were, you know, we were grocery shopping, it became lessons. We were on vacation. We did school the entire time. I did in school.

The normal schedule for school, we pretty much schooled year round. And, and for me, the business was something outside of who I was. It was, and so it wasn’t, um, everybody says, be your authentic self. Show your personality, show this. And I was just like, I always felt like I was putting on a facade because I was always doing it from a, from a perspective of I have to do this and I have to do it this way or whatever. And it became just inauthentic to who I was and it became unenjoyable. And so I think after a lot of reflection, and I think in conversations that we’ve had, it is just, it really struck out to be, it’s like, why the way I’m doing it and this spirit I’m doing it in is, has to be who I am. And it ha and it has to be something that I fully enjoy.

Because it was like, and then I thought about like, and I’ve changed, like, so I’m part of proper trouble. No, I’m, I’m part of truth bomb, but I also have, my business is proper trouble. And, and it was like, and for that is created customized and personalized mugs and stuff. And for me, I incorporate what I’ve been, I’ve been be able to incorporate what I love doing, which is scrapbook and create in Crafton doing all kinds of things. But I’ve been, but to make a business around that, it’s like, I’m not working anymore. I’m actually having fun and I’m enjoying what I’m doing. And, but people were asking me, it’s like, are you playing or having fun or working? And I’m like, what’s the difference? And it’s like when I can look at my business and be like, people don’t know if you’re working or, or, or goofing offer or working on your hobby. That to me is the business that I can build around and love. And it’s also incorporate in who I am as a, in at my core. Mm-hmm. , I guess. Awesome.

Yeah. So much good stuff between the two of you and that that’s why we partnered together because there’s so much inside of that. So I’m Chef Katrina. I have been in the digital marketing space for over 15 years now. Shocking but true. Um, I , uh, I retired from the, uh, corporate kitchen about 10 years ago and, uh, joined the digital marketing space. And for the last 10 years, I’ve mentored, trained, taught thousands of entrepreneurs and you know, the network marketing industry, small business industry. And it’s just been amazing journey. One of the things that came up for me during that whole journey between being a chef and even in the digital marketing space, was I always wondered why we were always told to do more. Right? And every time I turned around and I said, well, incorporate what you do, what do you love? And I always got pushback.

I got pushback from the companies that I was working with. And I got pushback from the students also because it wasn’t what they were being taught. It wasn’t to like fully embrace what you love. It was more like, this is how you do it. Do it this way, it’s this way or the highway. And I felt like we kept shoving stuff down people’s throats. Both, I mean every entrepreneur, right? It was so much in the doing that really in the last few years, everybody that I’ve worked with, I’ve watched ’em go through a burnout phase. Mm-hmm. , a lot of females have gone through it. They’re literally like, I’ve seen ’em burn down businesses, closed doors. I’ve seen ’em, uh, get off social media completely and disappear for well over a year. And I kept going, what is that? What is having these women disappear? What is having them burn out and get frustrated and cry and get so emotional about this journey that they don’t feel like they’re, they’re authentic first and foremost and they’re really struggling with something that should seem a little bit easier, right?

In terms of, of building a business. It’s digital. Like you can kind of take it with you on the go. And what I started looking at was that everything we’ve been trained and taught in the world of business, and it’s no fault. It’s really not. It’s just been what’s been so for the last, you know, hundred centuries or whatever it’s been the beginning of time, men have been always the creator of business. And so what happened is that part of our journey that we started looking at as women is that in, at least in the US during World War ii, women went into the workforce, right? Our men went off to war and the woman had to come into the workforce. She was Rosie the Riveter. She was, you know, everything industrial. She was, you know, business. She was everything because she was taking the place of the men that were gone, right?

The husbands that were gone, the sons, the brothers, everybody, right? And so when they came back from war, after World War II ended, women had to go back to the home and they were told they were no longer able to commit or be in this workspace, right? So it’s been an interesting journey when I look at it from there, because the men have graciously, I kid you not the last 60 plus years since women have entered into the workforce, cuz really it was in 1960s that the women were the strongest workforce. Baby boomers, just so you know, if you wanna ask, okay. That group came in and what was fascinating is they were out to prove something. They were out to prove that they did have a place in the workspace, right? And the only people that could teach ’em how to do business was from the men because they’d been in it.

But men lead from a different point of view, right? I remember sitting in workshops and I would always have the women be there, go like, they would teach time management. This is my favorite part to watch. I would watch time management, so the guys would get up there and I love you. All the pieces for those that have done it. And they’d be like, so my day starts at this. I do this, this, this, this and this. I have all of this done and then I go to work and I do this, this, and this. And I just saw every woman sitting in that place going, holy babe, right? Like how I’ve got family, I’ve got like 40 other a thousand things I need to do, and you want me to incorporate this time management, which works for into my life, right? And I could see women really struggling with that, this work life balance that was being kind of forced to us and told us like, this is how life goes.

This is how digital marketing goes. This is how building online goes, right? And I was like, there’s something missing. And really, I started looking and I’ve, I’ve not found a lot of resources around this, unfortunately, ladies, this is something we are completely re-imagining, which is the female business. How do women approach business that honors who they are, what’s important to them, and still allows them to produce the income to support and take care of family, right? And so really what we started looking at, and Karen and Heidi can chime in on this one. What we, what I started seeing was that we always talk about the work-life balance, but really for women it’s the life work balance. Family, friends life is more important to the female than, it’s not more important than than the male. It’s just a different relationship to it.

It’s just highlighted differently. It’s Very much highlighted. Thank you. I was like, it’s not different, it’s just the focus for it or who the attention. And the funny thing is, men have this also. It’s not just a female thing. No. The feminine energy of leading in that caring, nurturing way men have it. This is not an either or. This is not us against them. This is not a, you know, I always say it’s, it’s not that. It’s looking at for women, you’ve been in the masculine so long, how do we add back in that feminine to soften you, to give you back your voice and your authenticity and allow you to blend that back. So how do you lead with feminine and blend it into masculine instead of leading with masculine, trying to blend it into feminine, right? Which is the opposite sometimes of what we’re dealing with, which Is what I did for years. And it led me to complete burnout, frustration. And I know a lot of people, a lot of female business owners, heck a lot of business owners in general get to this point where they’re like, I am constantly doing, and they may or may not be seeing results, but even if they are seeing results, there’s so much burnout that can come when you’re just constantly doing Yeah. And constantly focusing from a place of how do I, what do I do next? What do I do next? Instead of enjoying the journey of what you are actually creating.

Yeah. And the competition behind it, right? It’s like it’s us against them. And it’s always like this. Every time you see a video it’s like, well I can do better than that. All right? And I was like, man, why don’t we just celebrated each other? What if we just got an opportunity to like cheer each other on, right? And celebrate every little win that everybody got and not make it such a, and I get the shame and I get the guilt and I get the, the comparitis like I’ve seen it all 15 years, 10 years. I mean, it’s still there, right? I still experience it. I’m not gonna lie, I’m not, I’m not making that up. Um, but there’s the sense of who am I inside of this conversation? Cuz this has been a really hard conversation for me. It’s been the mo one of the most difficult conversations is to talk about what it is, the feminine energy.

It came from a kitchen masculine energy. I worked in the digital marketing environment, super masculine energy, right? And so when you’re looking at what can you do, where can you, I mean, I put, I put family off, I put life off, I put everything off trying to prove that I could do this. And that’s exhausting. And it’s very lonely. And I know a lot of women and men out there that are just struggling with the loneliness of trying to do this and improve something out there. So it’s like really where can we step back and look at? It’s like, where are you really in your business and what, what, why is it important to you? And connect back to that feeling of why this is important to you and what is that, what’s keeping you going or are you keeping it going to keep up with the Joneses or keep up with some sort of award or, or standard or something that’s perceived out there, you know? And it’s, it’s just an amazing conversation that we’re having right now in the world. And I just love the fact that as women, if we can look at, and I’ve got so many guys curious about this. They’re like, how do we add this in for us and our business, right? Because if we don’t lead with the female, it’s a missing for the men too. It’s a missing for them.

I can so much relate to what we’re talking right now and I bet a lot of our viewers are listeners can relate to. Cuz majority of our audience is a female audience. And I remember when, when Karen was sharing and um, Heidi and Katrina that it’s hard do this alone. But a lot of women don’t even admit that. Like we’re so used to being burnout. It’s like a new normal that no one even mentioned it. That right? I’m burnout, it sucks. I hate doing what I’m doing. But what I’m sensing from you girls, that you have a special sweet angle to the business journey, especially for women to help women to get the results that mostly expected from men and even better results. But do it in a way where it doesn’t rob your, I don’t know, your existence , because where women are wired different way physically, emotionally, mentally. Why do we expect and put ourselves in the mailbox, right?

Yes. In the mailbox. I love that. to enjoy the process.

So our sense that you have some incredible solutions for women who can relate to our conversation and you probably have put something together and um, have something special for women who can relate to what we’re talking about. So let’s, let’s just, you know, talk a little bit more about masculine and feminine because a lot of people might not even know, you know, that some people think, well if you’re a man, you’re a masculine energy. If you’re a woman, you have feminine energy. But like we already mentioned, each person has both, right? We both have essence of feminine and masculine and a lot of women right now who are in the business, uh, field, uh, channeling more masculine energy because that’s what we think will help us to thrive and survive. And a lot of times we forget what it’s, what it’s so feminine about and how to incorporate it in the business world because it’s contagious and it’s attractive. The feminine energy . Yeah, it really is. That’s the, that’s the thing. Like we’ve put ourself in this mailbox, like you said and we forgot about how attractive we are. That female energy is super attractive. Yeah. Because it’s fun, it’s nurturing, it’s compassionate, it’s empathetic, all those things. And here’s the thing, and you touched on this and I love that you touched on this. Every single person on this planet has masculine and feminine energy at all times. We have masculine, feminine energy. This has nothing to do. With’s going on downstairs. Okay. Like literally nothing to do with that, right? It has everything to do with the energies that masculine is more of an analytical, it’s more of a logical, it’s more of a show me the facts, show me this is what I do and then I do this and then I do this. And that’s great. We need that.

Like I know I need that because I tend to fall on the other end where I’m like, let’s be more creative and let’s have more fun. So I sometimes need that structure. But for me, when I entered into the business world, I did put myself into that masculine energy because I knew that that’s what people were teaching and that the people on stage, they’re males. This is how they’re, this is how they’re doing their thing. If I wanna be like them, if I wanna be on the stage like them, I need to do what they’re doing. And so I shut off that feminine energy. I shut off the fun. And I mean, I’ve known you for years, Kat, like I was not the same person that I am today. When I first met you, I was a freaking mess back then. , We talk about it. I think it’s interesting how we all met each other, how we know each other. It’s, I think it’s been six, seven years, something like this. Yeah. And we were students, uh, chef Katrina was a mentor of a coaching community that we were students in and we were learning the robes and learning from each other and yeah. And a lot of friendships were formed and a lot of, uh, just women supporting women all, all these years, right? We still in touch and we hang out together and know what’s going on in our world. So it’s amazing. And I have a funny, funny fact, um, I wanna share before I forgot. So the way that my name is displayed right now is Chef Katrina’s Fault . So, Um, those could know my legal name is Katrina and we were in the same coaching community. She was the mentor, I was the students. So when the student wanted to ask a question and tag her, I guess in some alphabetical magical world, my name would pop up first and they would tag me and I would be like, Someone Me Wanna Ask a Question. And then I realized, well really, they didn’t mean to tag me, they meant to tag Chef Katrina. So I decided to shorten my name on social media, right. And be cat because my friends used to call me Cat. And a lot of people call me Cat and I’m like, I’ll be just cat. So this way they tag the right person and I’m not embarrassed and my not heard. So since then on social media, I’m Kat, not Katrina, but legally my name is Katrina. And usually when I get packages in the mail that says Kat, I’m like, hmm, who is sending me stuff? Someone social media who think like, you know, this is my name, but this is the truth. So this is is original Chef Katrina . I Remember you coming into the community cuz I was so excited. There was another Katrina. I was like, yes, there’s another Katrina in the community. I did not realize you got tagged with all the questions, but I’m hoping that really had you kind of go, oh, there’s a lot of questions people are asking me. They can help answer them. I mean that’s, that would be Important. Well, I did what I could, but I was like Getting Too complicated. Let’s just this .

That’s a good story. I always one, I’m like, wait, I thought Ka was Katrina. Cuz I was like, dang. I was like, no, I I know you as Katrina. That’s like the funny part cuz I was like, ka. And I was like, why does that not feel like who I know , you ruined it for her. That’s great. Well she Has a social media name now, so that’s not a bad thing. It’s all good. So . So Yeah.

Yeah. That’s awesome. Uh, yeah. But I, I mean I loved teaching everybody in that community. That was one of the big things for me about a mentorship, right? Was teaching. And I loved working with the women and I love watching. I mean, I could be your biggest, I am still your biggest fan. Like I will cheer every single person on because it’s so amazing to watch where you started and where you are now and where we are. Even with Beach Boss Babes, right? Like this whole community is an extraordinary testimony to what you’ve all put forth to create this, right. Finding that balance between it. And I think for those that are watching in the community, you have to really look at they’ve balanced something, right? Each one of you bring an element into the business that allowed for you is like, if one, the, the thing we have to realize women, right? When we fall sick or fall ill, it takes us out. So if you don’t have anyone to lean on right? And say, Hey, can you cover this? Or like, you know, this weekend we had to go Find, we
Do do something right? Yeah.

All the time. And because of, you know, it’s several of us, we’re able to travel whenever we want to. We are able to step back and take care of the family or whatever shit storm’s going on, right? Yep. And when we just came together, very similar how you girls came together, it was, I just like, I was building my business for so long along and I was exhausted mm-hmm. and I’m like, I wanna do it with someone else. Because usually, you know, when you are down and you think I’m gonna quit because it’s so hard, , but that right? You have someone who will pull you out or, you know, even bouncing off ideas or bouncing off different energies, different backgrounds. It’s amazing to watch what women can create together. And we were told by men that it would not work. It’s too many personalities, too many energies, too much drama. But we were like, you know what? Effort, watch us. We’re just burn all the rules. What’s not gonna work? And we’re just, you know, went to work and we created something that’s really amazing now. And I’m watching you girls, um, doing something very similar and like I said, with that sweet angle of embracing feminine energy and educating women, what women are all about and how to empower the world with our feminine, crazy creative energy. Yeah. Yeah. That’s, but we also naturally collaborate with each other and it’s like, you know, you go back and it’s like, and how they always talk about how it takes a village to raise a child. And we don’t do that as much anymore because, um, I, I had a, I was very fortunate to have an environment where we actually did do that and we helped each other. But by the way, you also have the opposite where we criticize each other. It’s always who’s doing better? Who’s doing this better? And we do that in the, in the business world too. We naturally, because we learn from the competitive environment, we naturally start being competitive with each other instead of, but how much more beautiful is it? And how much more do we get done when we celebrate each other? And when cel when women celebrate each other, it’s pretty amazing and beautiful to see.

Yeah, it sits funny. Part of what I’ve, I’ve taken on just if you, and if anyone’s watching this taken on for yourself, it’s quite entertaining to do this. But I’ve always making a point if I’m out and about to compliment a woman, always something about her shoes, the hair, something that she’s doing that. But my goal is always to compliment a woman. And the reason is, is I want women to know and recognize that it’s okay to compliment each other. It’s okay to acknowledge each other and be supportive of each other. And it, we look at to doing this and the digital business space is really, it’s a hard one because we think we’re competing against each other in this space, right? But I always said as a Pinterest marketer, I would rather have a room full of Pinterest marketers working together to better the space than me trying to prove my courses better than somebody else’s.

Cuz that’s not how I wanted to play the game, right? I wanted to play the game. It’s like, let’s get four or five of us that are starting to master this world of this platform, this marketing, and let’s go and together support and grow this conversation instead of I’m competing against you or my course is better. Like, that doesn’t serve anybody inside of that, right? Because when we work together, we, we think things, we help other businesses succeed because we ask different questions, right? And our curiosity shows up in a different way. So I always, I always wanted, always wanted collaboration. I said, let’s just take it and work it together cuz we’re gonna problem solve it. Women, we’d like to talk it out, men are like, just gimme A and B, c, b done. Right? Here’s the funnel. And I’m like, Hmm, but what if we change, you know, we wanna feel through it, right? Get like, don’t feel it, just do it. It’s like, no, no, I gotta feel through it. Like, I wanna know, like, does this feel right? Yeah, it’s been an, it’s been a really interesting conversation of talking about the feminine energy, the masculine energy. And I was like, let’s do this. Let’s have some fun.
Yeah. So what advice would you give to women who are starting this journey, are on this journey about wanting to quit this journey? Because it’s so hard, and so, you know, masculine driven energy that’s for women, naturally exhausting, right? It’s normal to be tired of constantly doing. For us, for women, we don’t get it. We don’t appreciate it. We want to take a break, dance the heck out of it, right? Think about it, feel it, enjoy it. , forget about, find ourselves scrolling in something else for a couple hours and come back and still be okay, right? . Yeah. So what kinda advice would you give to women who, whether they’re just starting their journey, figuring it out, or maybe even about to quit because doesn’t feel right

For me? Um, my come to Jesus moment happened about three years ago, and I was looking around at what I had created and it was good. There was nothing wrong with it on paper, everything looked right. I had so many mentors be like, you’re doing everything right, just keep going. But I was tired and I was like, there felt like there was no end in sight. And I don’t know if the word quit ever entered my mind because I’m just such a driven person and when I want something, I’m, I want something. But what I had to do, and if anybody out there is listening to this, the biggest piece of advice I could give to any person that’s in these shoes where you’re like, I’ve done something great, I’m really tired though, is to get connected back with yourself. That was probably the biggest gift I could have ever given to myself.

The beginning of 2020, I took one look at what was going on in my life. I was constantly sick. I felt like crap all the time. I literally felt like I was running all over the place and not getting anywhere. And so I started to look more internally and I am so grateful for having had a mentor years before. Tell me about meditation. And for me, that was where I started. I was like, well, what better way to go into myself than through meditation and sitting with myself, sitting with my thoughts that made me fe ma made me feel uncomfortable, sit with them and really be present to who I am as a female, who I am as a person, what it was that I actually wanted to create. And when I actually sat down and started to sit with myself, I realized that I didn’t love the person that I had become, but I wanted to love the person that I was.

I wanted that so badly. And so I became so present to who I was. And so I started to fall in love again with myself. I started to go, this is, this is really like, this is what I love about me. And I, I started by doing silly things like affirmations. Now they’re not really silly, but I would look in the mirror and tell myself that I loved myself and I would actually start to believe it. The more I did it. I started to believe that, oh yeah, I really do love myself. And so it started creating more and more confidence. I’ve always been a very confident person, but it created more confidence and it created more of a, a desire to fall even more in love with myself because I’m like, well, what else is there? What else can I create? What, like, I got curious about me. So anybody out there that’s feeling this way where it’s like I just, I wanna burn it all down and walk away, fall in love again with yourself and figure out what, what is the reason that you started this in the first place? What’s the reason that you wanted a business in the first place? And really diving back in, falling in love with yourself and then falling back in love with your business again.

Ah, I have goosebumps all over . It’s so powerful. I can definitely relate because we live in the world where we have so many expectations and we know what’s expected of us as a mother, as a worker, as a wife, and we actually lose a sight of who we really are. Like if someone asked me few years ago, well I understand that you are this and this and this, but who are you? I wouldn’t be able to give that person an answer because I never had time to even ask myself, what is it that I want? Right? Well, I know what my kids want, my husband, my boss, but what is it that I want? I didn’t know. So, and when you start, whether it’s through meditation, there is some other ways of just slowing down and asking yourself these questions, right? We all come to this journey wanting to make more money, but why ? Why do you want more money? Right? Is the the reason behind our intentions. That’s what’s important. And when we peel back all the bull crap and get to the core of why we want the things that we want, it usually comes down to very simple things like, I want more confidence or I want more acceptance. And usually what we seeking from the outer world, we need to give it to ourselves. It has to come from us. .

Yeah. Very powerful Steph. So ,

I think for, I mean, the only thing I can say, the biggest thing that’s that’s changed for me is that incorporate in what I love to do in my life into my business and when it’s, when something that I’m passionate about in my life is, is a major part of my business. It’s, it’s just becomes natural to do. And it’s not something that I, that it feels like work anymore.
I agree. Yeah. .

Yeah. My one piece of advice for anybody, whether you’re brand new into this world, if you’re burnt out from this, is everything that ki and Heidi and Kata said so far. The the biggest thing is you can possibly do, and I’ve seen it all, the ladies, I’ve watched this industry evolve so much over the last decade in the one gift we can give back to you is a be part of this community. Look for collaboration and first and foremost, always look to yourself. Mm-hmm. And find the way to create your space so that you can be in silence with yourself, which is the hardest thing for women to do, but that is gonna be your best reward to yourself. Um, and however that looks, that’s my biggest advice is don’t give up. Just look for ways to start reaching out to other women, honestly. Start reaching out to other women and start finding out what’s really so in the world and it’s going to change your life.

Yeah. Thank you for amazing advice and we have a little surprise, right? For all the listeners and viewers, can you tell us what it is and how they can get it? ? Yeah,
Absolutely. Go ahead Karen.

Uh, I mean whatever. We, we all collaborated. How’s that? So we actually created a female business book and the title is Female, female Business, what Women Know About Business That Men Don’t. And it’s really like, I love what we’ve done because we’ve taken, we’ve taken you on that journey and Katrina already mentioned it, where we’re taking you on the journey of what happened when World War II happened and how we started getting into the, um, into the actual workforce. And we’re taking you on that journey. And then we’re taking you through the journey of what does it actually look like for you now to have a female business? What does it actually feel like? How can you make it more fun? How can you enjoy it? How can you have more compassion, empathy, all the things that females love to share and demonstrate with other people.

Awesome. So there will be a link, I hope, eventually somewhere there will be a link, which is truth bomb marketing.com/female-biz-book. And there’s a special discount for those who are listening. But be careful, it’s limited time. You don’t have the luxury to sit around and thi and think about it , you have to grab it now because you’re gonna get amazing discount and Chef Katrina can tell us more about the discount and the, Yeah, so the, the, the discount for this one. So we wanted to create something special cuz we know that this is a conversation that’s not common right now. There isn’t a lot of people talking about the female business, what women know, guys, ladies, you actually do know a lot about business that men don’t, right? And they’re actually asking for you to step up and start sharing your knowledge. So that’s really what we’re pointing to inside of the female business, what women know about business that men don’t. And as our special offer, you have a very short window about 10 days from the time of this airing that we’re gonna keep this out there. So we are gonna give you a discount called if you put in Beach Boss, right? So we’re just exclusive for you Beach Boss. Put this in. Um, you can take advantage of our special keep on, which gives this book to you for free.

So we want to have you be part of this conversation and really look at if this is, that resonates with you and we wanna make sure that more of us women in the world, um, are are learning it so that we can teach it to the men because they’re asking for this kind of information also. So that’s our special offer to you. So I’m honestly Kat, thank you for having us on here. This has been an absolutely amazing and I hope every single one of you that’s been watching really got some value from this cuz there’s a little bit of nugget for each, every single one of you, no matter where you’re at in your business, no matter where you’re at in your life, I hope you took something away and are able to implement it and uh, go like, okay, that makes sense now.
Yeah. Well, what a great way to close this conversation. I think we could’ve gone talking about it for hours, . We Do, we

Right, we left off a couple years ago and we just picked up exactly where we left off and the conversation continues, but we share it with you guys and it’s so amazing watching other women to succeed and share their knowledge. And that’s what we want you to do. But do it in a way that, uh, inspires you and make your soul sing, not drain you out, and make you feel exhausted. So thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I hope to have you back again anytime, . And if you got any value from our conversation or have any questions, please let us know and we will see you next time.
