How to Use Short Videos in Network Marketing

    Table of Contents

Be honest; you’re probably reading this from your phone.

You might’ve made the rounds on social media already to scope out if anything new is happening today.

You probably couldn’t open any social media app without seeing a short video within the first minute of scrolling.

    Short Videos in Network Marketing
    (freepik/Freepik)

If you think about all the social media users on all the different platforms, that’s a lot of thumbs just scrolling for something to captivate them enough to stop, and it’s often a short video that does the trick.

How can you harness the power of reels and shorts to captivate your own audience? Let’s talk about why short videos are crucial for social media network marketing right now and how you can fine-tune them to bring in more leads for you. Currently, they’re a golden ticket.

    Why Short Videos Work

Before we teach you how to do network marketing on social media with short videos, let’s cover why you need to jump on this bandwagon as soon as possible.

    Instant Gratification Nation

We’re living in the age of instant gratification, where attention spans are shorter than a TikTok dance craze. Short videos are like the bite-sized snacks of content: easy to consume, satisfying, and leave you wanting more.

    Scroll-Stopping Power

Ever found yourself mindlessly scrolling through your feed, only to be stopped dead in your tracks by a killer short video? That’s the power of short-form content. They’re like little nuggets of gold in a sea of cat memes and food pics.

    Mobile Madness

Let’s face it: our phones are practically glued to our hands 24/7. Short videos are tailor-made for our on-the-go, mobile-centric lifestyles. Whether you’re waiting for your latte or chilling on the bus, you can smash that play button and get your content fix in seconds flat.

    Shareability Factor

Short videos are like the gossip of the internet; they spread faster than rumors at a high school dance. With just a few taps, your video can go viral and reach audiences you never dreamed of. Talk about a digital domino effect.

    Creativity Playground

Short videos are the ultimate playground for creativity. With constraints on time and length, creators are forced to get crafty and make every second count. From snappy editing to killer soundtracks, the possibilities are endless.

    Platform Powerhouses

Platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts are doubling down on short-form content, giving creators all the tools they need to shine. Plus, they’re constantly tweaking their algorithms to prioritize short videos, so you’ll get more eyeballs on your content faster than you can say “viral sensation.”

Short videos are the name of the game if you want to build an online presence. And building an online presence is just going to help you on your way to network marketing success.

    More Views = More Leads

Here’s a simple guide on using short videos to generate more leads for your network marketing business:

    Get Your Game Plan Ready

First off, brainstorm the key points you want to hit in your video. What makes your product or opportunity shine? Keep it snappy and upbeat.

    Lights, Camera, Action!

Time to film! Find a spot with good lighting (natural light is your bestie) and minimal background noise. Smile big and let your enthusiasm shine through.

Short and Sweet Wins the Race

Remember, attention spans are shorter than ever, so keep your video brief. Aim for one to two minutes. Ain’t nobody got time for an epic saga.

    Hook ’em from the Start

Start strong. Capture attention right off the bat with a catchy intro. Think of it like the opening scene of a blockbuster movie. You want to keep them glued to the screen.

    Show, Don’t Just Tell

People love visuals. Use short clips or images to showcase your product or share success stories. After all, seeing is believing.

    Call to Action, Baby!

Don’t leave them hanging; end your video with a clear call to action. Whether it’s visiting your website, joining your Facebook group, or shooting you a message, make it crystal clear what you want them to do next.

    Spread the Love

Once your masterpiece is ready, share it far and wide. Post it on your social media channels, send it to your email list, and heck, even drop it in your group chats. The more eyeballs, the better.

    Engage, Engage, Engage!

Don’t just drop your video and ghost. Stick around and engage with folks who comment or reach out. Building relationships is what it’s all about.

The algorithm also appreciates when you engage with other content creators, so add meaningful comments or interactions with other posts, too.

    Analyze and Adjust

Keep an eye on those metrics. See which videos are getting the most views, likes, and shares, and use that intel to fine-tune your future creations. It’s all about that sweet, sweet optimization.

    Rinse and Repeat

Keep the momentum going. Consistency is key when you’re trying to make it big on social media via short videos. As you stay consistent and build up your audience, the algorithm will look down favorably upon you.

So, keep cranking out those short, snappy videos, and watch those leads roll in like nobody’s business.

Believe it or not, our businesses truly started to thrive once we decided to stop prospecting.

Yes, you read that right—no more cold calls, no more chasing uninterested leads, and no more feeling like you’re spinning your wheels without moving forward.

Now, you might be wondering, how in the world does that work?

Well, if you’re a network marketer, direct seller, or affiliate marketer who’s fed up with traditional prospecting methods, you’re in the right place.

We’re about to share with you the exact strategies we used to completely transform our approach, and they’ve helped us grow our businesses beyond eight figures in just three years.

    Sounds crazy, right?

The key is in attracting high-quality people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

Instead of chasing after everyone and anyone, imagine drawing in the right people—those who actually want to be a part of your tribe and are excited about what you’re doing.

That’s exactly what our no prospecting formulas are all about.

We’re going to reveal five of our most powerful marketing strategies that not only helped us ditch ineffective prospecting but also made our businesses soar.

These formulas are tried and true, and we’ve personally used them to achieve massive growth.

So, get ready to learn how you can stop wasting time on traditional prospecting and start focusing on what really works.

Stick with us, because we’re about to dive into the five best strategies that can help you attract your ideal audience and build a thriving business without the hassle of prospecting.

    Formula 1 – Problem-Agitate-Solution (Storytelling)

Let’s dive into one of our favorite formulas: the Problem-Agitate-Solution approach.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re not great at sales, you’re not alone.

But here’s the good news—selling doesn’t have to be hard when you get really good at telling stories.

As the saying goes, “Facts tell, stories sell.”

    It’s absolutely true.

When you can paint a vivid picture of a problem or pain that you or someone else has experienced, and then twist that knife just a little to agitate the issue, it becomes so much easier to present a solution.

When Cari was pregnant with her daughter, she developed melasma, which caused dark patches to appear all over her face.

It was something she’d never dealt with before, and it really made her self-conscious.

She remembers being on a trip in Cancun with her network marketing company when her husband noticed the dark patches and tried to wipe them off, thinking her face was dirty.

It was a moment that made her feel incredibly insecure.

Fast forward a few months, and she’s scrolling through Facebook when she sees an ad for a cream specifically for melasma.

The woman in the ad shared her story about developing melasma during pregnancy, just like Cari had, and how this one cream helped her.

She agitated the problem—how the dark patches didn’t go away after pregnancy as expected—and then offered a solution with the cream.

    Cari bought it immediately.

    That’s the power of storytelling.

It connects with people on an emotional level.

So, think about the stories you have—whether they’re your own or from others you’ve helped.

Start building a story bank, because the key to selling is not about pushing products, but about sharing stories that resonate with your audience.

Formula 2 – Grow, Engage, Promote

One of the biggest challenges network marketers face is running out of people to talk to.

When you first start, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of promoting your products to everyone you know.

We’ve been there ourselves—making that list of a hundred people and trying to bring up our amazing products in every conversation.

But here’s the thing: you can only do that for so long before you run out of people to talk to, and that’s where many marketers hit a wall.

The key to long-term success in network marketing is to grow an audience of people who are actively searching for what you have to offer.

This means finding and connecting with individuals who are already looking for products like yours or are interested in the type of opportunity you’re promoting.

Once you’ve started growing your audience, the next step is to engage with them genuinely.

This isn’t about seeing people as potential sales; it’s about building real, authentic relationships.

Think about it—when you treat people like human beings, without a hidden agenda, you build trust.

Share content that resonates with their needs, just like that ad Cari saw for the cream that helped her with her melasma.

Engage in conversations, offer value, and be there for them as a normal, caring person.

When you focus on growing and engaging with your audience in this way, promoting your products becomes a natural next step.

Because you’ve built trust and genuine connections, your audience will listen to your recommendations—whether it’s a product, an opportunity, or even just a book you love.

They’ll be more inclined to buy because they trust you, and that’s the real secret to success in network marketing: being a good person who genuinely cares about others.

Formula 3 – How to [Desire] Without [Struggle]

Let’s dive into our third formula, which is a game-changer because of its simplicity and effectiveness: the “How to [Desire] Without [Struggle]” approach.

This formula is all about presenting a solution that your audience desires while reassuring them they can achieve it without the common struggles or pains usually associated with it.

Here’s how it works: You start by identifying the outcome your audience wants—this is the “desire.”

Then, you pair it with the biggest obstacle they face in achieving that desire—this is the “struggle.”

The magic happens when you craft a message that promises the desired result without the usual hassle.

For instance, think about someone who wants to lose weight but dreads counting calories.

You could create a message like, “How to drop 10 pounds without tracking every bite.”

Instantly, this grabs attention because it speaks directly to what they want while removing a pain point.

This formula is incredibly effective in grabbing attention and building curiosity because it taps into the core question everyone has: “What’s in it for me?”

By addressing their desires and eliminating their fears, you’re showing them a path to success that feels achievable and appealing.

Here are a few examples to illustrate this: “How to get flawless skin without spending a fortune on skincare,” or “How to grow your online following without being glued to your phone.”

These kinds of messages resonate deeply because they offer a solution that feels within reach, without the usual burdens.

This formula is simple to implement and can be used in your next social media post, email, or conversation.

It’s a powerful way to speak directly to your audience’s needs and get them excited about what you have to offer.

    Formula 4 – Curiosity Posts

Curiosity posts are one of the most powerful tools in your marketing toolkit, especially when done right.

They work wonders because they grab attention and create a sense of intrigue, prompting people to ask questions and want to know more.

But here’s the secret: the success of your curiosity posts depends not just on the post itself but on what you do in between those posts.

Before diving into curiosity posts, you need to focus on growing and engaging with the right audience.

Building genuine relationships with people who are interested in what you have to offer is key.

If you’re wondering why your curiosity posts aren’t getting the traction you hoped for, the first question to ask yourself is, “Who am I connecting with?”

It’s essential that your posts are being seen by the right people—the ones who are most likely to engage and take action.

Once you have the right audience, consistency is crucial.

We recommend using curiosity posts at least once a week for your products and at least once a month for a major enrollment push.

Think of it as taking your audience on a journey.

Start by grabbing their attention with a relatable story of struggle.

Share the emotions you experienced, and then offer them a solution—a light at the end of the tunnel.

But don’t stop there; always include a call to action, guiding them on what to do next.

By consistently sharing your story, connecting with the right people, and giving them a clear path to follow, your curiosity posts will become a powerful tool for turning followers into customers and teammates.

Use this formula regularly, and watch your engagement grow.

    Formula 5 – Storytelling

Storytelling is one of the most powerful tools in your marketing arsenal.

It can seamlessly fit into any strategy, whether it’s a curiosity post, a live video, or a simple social media update.

The essence of storytelling lies in taking an ordinary event, adding emotion, and crafting a narrative that resonates with your audience.

For example, Fran recently bumped into someone at the supermarket who she hadn’t seen in years.

Fran had just come from the gym, feeling less than glamorous, but she couldn’t believe how young Fran looked.

She asked what Fran was using for her skin, and she told her about a serum she’d been using.

That casual conversation led her to become a customer because the story of Fran’s experience made a real impact.

This is the beauty of storytelling.

It’s not just about selling a product; it’s about connecting with people on a human level.

When you share your struggles, like feeling self-conscious about your appearance, and then introduce the solution that helped you, you create a bridge between your experience and their needs.

It’s about giving them a light at the end of the tunnel and offering hope.

Stories are the oldest form of communication and remain one of the most effective.

Whether it’s a story of a small victory at the gym or a moment of realization in your business, these narratives help build relationships and show your audience that you’re just like them.

Even if your story doesn’t directly lead to a sale, it builds trust and connection, making you relatable and authentic.

And in network marketing, that’s invaluable.

Remember, everyone loves a good story, so don’t hesitate to share yours.

    The Reality of Network Marketing

If you’re part of any network marketing business, direct sales, or affiliate marketing industry, we’ve got good news and bad news for you.

The good news is that network marketing, affiliate marketing, and direct sales are fantastic ways to build financial freedom and multiply streams of income.

It’s a promising field where you can create significant wealth and achieve your financial goals.

But here’s the bad news: you don’t own your business.

Despite what is often sold to you, you do not own your network marketing company, affiliate marketing company, or direct sales company.

You don’t own your customers, your downline, or any part of the company.

It can all be taken away in the blink of an eye without any warning, explanation, or notice.

The company might change its compensation plan, go under, or make other decisions that can instantly impact your income stream.

It’s scary, and it’s happening all the time.

Imagine investing so much of your time and money, putting your heart and soul into building this business, and thinking that your customers and your team are yours.

You believe this is where you will build your forever home, love your company, and adore your products, expecting to retire with a stable residual income in 20, 10, or even 5 years.

Then, it’s all taken away, just like that.

While we can’t control other companies, their decisions, or the people involved, we can control ourselves and the decisions we make.

We will share one crucial decision you need to make today to protect your business in case your company changes its compensation plan or makes any decisions that jeopardize your income.

This is probably one of the most exciting and crucial lessons network marketers need to know.

    The Risks You Can’t Control

In the world of network marketing, there are risks you simply can’t control.

It’s a harsh reality, but changes within your company can happen overnight, often without any warning.

One day, everything’s running smoothly, and the next, your entire business is taken out from under your feet.

We’ve seen it happen in real time, and it’s a scenario that can be very unsettling.

But it’s not just company changes that pose a risk.

Think about your reliance on social media.

What happens if Facebook or Instagram suddenly goes down?

Or worse, what if your account gets shut down?

    We’ve experienced this firsthand.

There was a day not long ago when all major social media platforms were down.

We couldn’t even message through Messenger.

It was a wake-up call, reminding us how vulnerable our businesses are when we rely too heavily on these platforms.

    Imagine that happening to you.

Your business, which you’ve poured your heart and soul into, suddenly at a standstill.

    What would you do?

We faced the same dilemma, and it was our strategy of building our own assets that saved us.

This strategy not only preserved our business but also helped us build an eight-figure empire within three years.

Building your own assets means creating something that belongs to you—something that no one can take away.

These assets can be monetized whenever you choose, regardless of whether you’re still aligned with your company.

So, if your company switches from network marketing to affiliate marketing, or if a social media platform crashes, your business can still thrive.

In short, while you can’t control the decisions of your company or the stability of social media platforms, you can control the security of your business by building and owning your own assets.

This approach provides a safety net, ensuring that you can continue to grow and succeed no matter what changes come your way.

    Building Your Own Assets

Imagine this: you’ve worked hard for years, building a six-figure income, and suddenly, it’s gone overnight.

Your company goes under, or your contracts are terminated without warning.

It’s a scary reality in the volatile world of network marketing.

We’ve seen companies switch from MLM to affiliate models, top distributors getting sued, and checks being withheld.

Leaders move from one company to another, causing chaos.

If your entire team system is attached to your upline and they leave, what happens to your team and your paycheck?

In these uncertain times, the key is to focus on what you can control—building your own assets.

This starts with branding yourself and growing an email list.

    Why an email list?

Because it provides security that isn’t tied to your company or upline.

You can’t control the network marketing space, the FTC, or people making outrageous income claims that might bring a company down.

But you can control your email list.

Consider this: you’ve been talking to countless people, but none have joined your business.

    Why?

Because they didn’t know, like, or trust you enough.

A sales coach once asked us, “What if you had been growing that know, like, and trust factor with all these people through emails?”

Imagine sending one email a day, or even a week, to nurture those relationships instead of reaching out one by one.

How different would your business look?

If we had a system to keep in touch with everyone consistently, our businesses would have been much further along.

Instead of putting uninterested prospects on the back burner for six months, we could have been providing value to them regularly, keeping the relationship warm.

Building an email list allows you to grow these relationships at scale, providing a foundation that remains strong, no matter what changes in your company.

The Power of an Email List

An email strategy lets you communicate with thousands who know, like, and trust you, rather than relying solely on company collateral and one-to-one reach outs.

Some people suggest doing 50 reach outs a day, but that sounds overwhelming.

Imagine if all those people were on your email list, and you could reach them with one email a day.

Building an email list is about creating an asset of people who are excited to hear from you every day.

It’s a freeing way to grow your business.

When we realized this, we knew we had been playing small.

Instead of sporadically following up with individuals, we began providing immense value to everyone on my email list.

You might think email is outdated, but it’s far from dead.

An email list significantly contributes to a company’s market value.

Often, you get to know someone better through their emails than their social media posts.

Emails offer a personal touch, making readers feel like you’re speaking directly to them.

It’s a powerful strategy to build and maintain relationships with your audience.

While it’s essential to avoid the spam folder, learning the right techniques ensures your emails land in inboxes, not junk folders.

    Branding yourself is crucial.

    People join people, not companies.

Through your emails and posts, let your audience get to know the real you, not just your products.

This personal connection safeguards your business regardless of what happens to your company.

For instance, your email list is your lifeline if your Facebook account is shut down.

It can provide security and continuity for your business.

You can start building your list manually, adding emails from your Facebook group members, and then set up automation as you grow.

Our seven-figure students have successfully automated their lists and businesses, often gaining customers and team members even during workshop breaks.

An email list is an invaluable asset you truly own.

  • 7 Effective Communication Skills in Network Marketing Recruiting

7 Effective Communication Skills in Network Marketing Recruiting

    Table of Contents

Do you find yourself struggling to connect with potential recruits and grow your network marketing business?

Effective communication is the cornerstone of successful recruiting.

Communication Skills in Network Marketing Recruiting
    (freepik/Freepik)

Without it, you may find yourself facing constant rejection, strained relationships, and an inability to build a strong team. You can’t be successful in network marketing without mastering communication skills.

So, let’s take a deep dive into how to communicate effectively and set yourself up for a thriving network marketing business.

    1. Be Genuinely Interested

Don’t just ask questions to break the ice so you can shove a product down someone’s throat. People have excellent instincts to discern when someone is not sincere in their friendliness efforts.

Show genuine interest in others. Ask them about their hobbies or pets. Chat about their favorite musician or TV show. Remember things about them from your previous conversations.

If you are sincere in your friendship with them, they will not feel like you are being sales-y when you talk about your products.

    2. Listen

    Listen up!

Yes, listen to us. We’re giving you valuable advice right here: listen to everyone you communicate with.

God gives us two ears and one mouth for a reason. When you think of communication, you might think of all the ways you can convey information to people. But to truly be an effective communicator, you need to be able to hear what information they need.

Take time in your conversation to let the other person talk. Take what they are saying into account. Listen to their wants, needs, struggles, and accomplishments.

Listening builds trust between you and the person you’re communicating with.

You know you are communicating effectively when you can remember and build a relationship with them based on the information they share with you. If you are concerned about how to recruit people in network marketing, start by working on your listening skills.

You can try a few techniques to improve your listening skills:

    • Practice active listening by focusing fully on the speaker without interrupting
    • Summarize key points to ensure understanding
    • Ask clarifying questions to demonstrate engagement and comprehension

Mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing and reducing distractions can also help you maintain focus during conversations.

You may be surprised how powerful this one skill of listening can be.

    3. Utilize Nonverbal Communication

What you’re doing says as much as the words you speak. If you let someone talk but have a vacant look on your face, they won’t believe you care about them or what they are telling you. Be conscious of your facial expressions, eye contact, and body language.

Don’t be afraid to sit in front of a mirror and analyze your facial expressions. Does your face look genuine and sincere? Do you look cold or unapproachable? Do you seem like you’re eager to listen to someone confide in you?

    4. Aim for Simplicity

Practice giving your pitches in a succinct, concise way that won’t feel too long or drawn out in a regular conversation.

If you have to go into a 15-minute explanation of what products you offer or why the company started, you might lose the interest of some people. You may have hooked them if you allowed them to have a more open dialogue about the company.

If you are clear and concise, your message won’t get lost in the drawn-out explanations. Being straightforward is more likely to captivate your audience.

    5. Ask Questions

One key to being an effective communicator is to ask questions. But do your best to avoid questions that have “yes” or “no” as the answer. Instead, ask questions that will encourage the other person to open up to you.

If you’re working on how to grow your Avon business, instead of, “Have you heard of Avon?” try asking, “Where’s your favorite place to buy makeup and skincare products?”

    6. When Possible, Talk

Meanings and intentions can get lost in translation via the written word. Emails and texts don’t always come across the way the writer intended.

The best way to communicate is face-to-face whenever possible. This allows you to gauge the other person’s body language, know you have their undivided attention, and catch other subtleties through the conversation that might have been lost to cyberspace if it had been an email.

If in-person isn’t possible, phone or Zoom calls are effective. You can hear the other person’s voice and discern things from their inflection that may have been harder to decipher from a text.

For your social media followers, getting in front of the camera, even though it may be uncomfortable, is a great way to build trust and connection with them.

Although the communication is skewed that way since it feels like a one-way conversation, you are just simply starting the conversation. The comments continue the conversation, and you can pick up a back-and-forth exchange from there.

    7. Practice

If you aren’t comfortable talking with other people, practice! Grab a friend, neighbor, family member, or co-worker and talk. You can let them know you are practicing your communication skills and ask for feedback, or if you’re uncomfortable with that, you can just work on implementing your new communication skills with people you’re more familiar with and comfortable with.

Don’t Forget to Consider Your Audience

Remember, you communicate with individuals daily while working on your network marketing business.

Every interaction has the potential to impact individuals on a personal level, but you need to tailor your approach. From your team members to prospective clients and loyal followers, each connection is an opportunity to foster trust and build rapport.

By considering your audience and acknowledging the diverse people you engage with daily, you can cultivate stronger relationships and drive meaningful results.

Use these tips to help you become a better leader, refine your selling techniques, elevate your social media presence, and strengthen the bonds of friendship.

The Truth Behind ‘We Build Your Downline’ Claims | Legit Opportunity or Scam?

    Table of Contents

Have you ever scrolled through your social media feed and seen an ad that promises to “build your downline for you”?

It’s a claim that’s both tempting and promising.

Imagine having a team of marketers working tirelessly on your behalf to grow your network while you sit back and reap the rewards.

Sounds like a dream come true, right?

But hold on a minute, is it really that simple?

Is it legit, or is it just another too good to be true offer that will end up wasting your time and money?

Understanding the Appeal and the Risks

In the network marketing space, promises like “We build your downline” can be incredibly tempting, especially for those who are new or struggling to gain traction.

Imagine seeing an ad that promises to take the hardest part of your business off your hands.

It’s no wonder people are drawn to these offers.

For many network marketers, the appeal lies in the potential for quick and significant growth.

These offers tap into the desire for an easier path to success, especially for those who may have tried traditional strategies without seeing much success.

It feels like a lifeline—a way to finally see their business take off without the usual grind of recruiting and training.

However, it’s crucial to approach these offers with caution.

The truth is, many of these “done-for-you” systems are not as straightforward as they seem.

The marketing behind them is designed to make them look effortless and foolproof, but the reality is often more complex and less reliable.

One major risk is that these systems can be misleading.

They might not deliver on their promises, leaving you out of pocket and no better off in your business.

In the digital age, where bots and automated systems are prevalent, it’s easy for companies to make big claims without having to back them up with real results.

This can lead to frustration and a sense of betrayal when the promised downline doesn’t materialize.

Additionally, relying on someone else to build your downline can hinder your own growth and development.

Building a network marketing business is not just about the numbers; it’s about developing your skills, creating genuine connections, and learning how to attract and support your team.

When you outsource this critical part of your business, you miss out on valuable learning experiences and personal growth opportunities.

It’s important to keep your “spidey senses” up when encountering these offers.

Ask yourself if it sounds too good to be true and do thorough research before committing to anything.

Remember, if someone promises to build your downline for you, it might be time to question their motives and the legitimacy of their claims.

For those inside the network marketing industry, hungry for strategies and support, these offers can be a trap.

It’s essential to stay informed, skeptical, and focused on developing your own skills and strategies.

True success in network marketing comes from authentic efforts and personal growth, not from shortcuts that promise the world but deliver little.

    The Reality Behind Recruiting Funnels

Often, when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

This is particularly the case with claims about building your downline for you.

These offers typically include promises to create a recruiting funnel, which involves a capture page designed to collect personal details.

The entire premise revolves around presenting an easy online side gig, appealing to those looking for additional income streams.

However, the reality sets in when individuals reach the sales page and realize it’s about network marketing—a fact not disclosed upfront.

This can lead to disillusionment as people find out they’ve been lured under false pretenses.

The funnel builders then run ads on your behalf, targeting people who might be interested in a side gig.

But this broad approach often misses the mark, attracting individuals who are not genuinely interested in or suitable for network marketing.

Additionally, many people have preconceived notions about network marketing, often viewing it as a scam or a pyramid scheme.

These negative perceptions can be deeply ingrained, sometimes passed down from personal or family experiences.

Consequently, the ads you pay for might end up attracting the wrong audience, people who are not likely to engage or convert, making your investment in these pre-built recruiting funnels ineffective and frustrating.

    The Challenges of Pre-built Funnels

While pre-built recruiting funnels might seem like a dream come true, they come with significant challenges.

First, if you didn’t build the funnel yourself, you might struggle to understand its inner workings.

This lack of knowledge can be problematic when issues arise, as you won’t know how to troubleshoot or optimize the funnel effectively.

Imagine receiving a fully constructed website without knowing how to update or modify it.

This scenario mirrors what happens with pre-built funnels.

You might find yourself stuck, unable to tweak or improve the funnel, rendering it ineffective.

Moreover, these pre-built solutions often aren’t duplicatable.

Network marketing thrives on duplicable strategies that can be taught to your downline.

If you can’t teach your team how to build and manage funnels, you’ll hit a roadblock in your growth.

Additionally, many people are drawn to network marketing to earn money, not to spend significant sums on sophisticated funnels and expensive ad campaigns.

For newcomers, investing thousands into a funnel might seem counterintuitive when they’re trying to start earning.

To truly benefit from funnels, it’s crucial to develop the necessary skills yourself.

This way, you can effectively attract high-quality leads, maintain and troubleshoot your funnel, and teach your team to do the same.

While funnels can be powerful tools, they require a solid foundation of knowledge and hands-on experience to be successful.

    The Path to Mastering Funnels

Mastering funnels is a journey that requires you to develop core skill sets fundamental to network marketing.

It’s not just about setting up a recruiting funnel; it’s about understanding and mastering the basics first.

These include active prospecting and knowing where to find high-quality prospects on social media.

Funnels become effective when you, as the leader, own and host them, allowing your team to use a funnel you control.

However, before you get there, you need to develop all the necessary skills.

Jumping into a big, complex funnel without these skills is like trying to run before you can walk.

It requires work, dedication, and a clear understanding of what you’re doing.

Beware of anyone promising quick success with expensive funnels.

Instead of spending thousands on a funnel, invest in mentorship that teaches you these essential skills.

This way, when you’re ready, you can create and manage your funnel effectively.

  • A Network Marketer’s Guide to Captivate, Connect, and Convert with Emails

A Network Marketer’s Guide to Captivate, Connect, and Convert with Emails

    Table of Contents

Emails are your trusty sidekick in the world of network marketing. They’re like little messengers that can help you reach out to potential customers and partners without even leaving your chair.

How can you make emails work for you? You’re in the right place to find out.

Network Marketers Guide to Captivate Connect and Convert with Emails
    (Taryn Elliott/pexels)

    Why Emails Work

First off, let’s chat about why emails are so effective at building your network marketing business. They can:

    Provide Direct Connection

Emails give you a direct line to people’s inboxes. It’s like sliding into their DMs, but way more professional.

When someone signs up for your email list, they’re basically saying, “Hey, I’m interested in what you have to say!” So, you’ve already got a foot in the door.

    Offer a Personal Touch

Unlike social media posts or ads, emails feel personal. You’re speaking directly to the person reading it, making it easier to connect.

Plus, you can customize your emails with their names or other personal details to really make them feel special.

    Build Trust

Building trust is key in network marketing, and emails are a great way to do it. By consistently showing up in people’s inboxes with helpful, valuable content, you’re proving that you’re not just out to make a quick buck. You’re genuinely interested in helping them solve their problems or achieve their goals.

    Nurture Relationships

Network marketing is all about relationships, right? Well, emails are like the ultimate relationship-building tool. You can use them to stay in touch with your audience, nurture leads, and keep them engaged over time.

It’s like planting seeds and watching them grow into beautiful, fruitful relationships.

    Drive Action

At the end of the day, the goal of network marketing is to get people to take action, whether that’s making a purchase, joining your team, or attending an event.

Emails are great for this because you can include clear calls to action that tell people exactly what you want them to do next. It’s like giving them a little nudge in the right direction.

    Using Email Effectively

Now that we’ve shown you that emails are worth your time and effort as a network marketing strategy, let’s break down how to use them effectively:

    Build Your List

Before you can start sending out those awesome emails, you need people to send them to.

Start by building your email list.

Collect emails from people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. This could be through your website, social media, or even in-person events. Wherever you have interested people congregating, that’s where you’ll want to snatch up their emails.

Having potential customers on your email list is valuable because you can send direct content to them and communicate deals or new products with them.

Gather as many emails as you can, and don’t stop.

    Craft Compelling Content

Once you’ve got your list, it’s time to craft some killer content.

Your emails should be like a good conversation with a friend. Keep them friendly, informative, and engaging. Share stories, tips, and insights that show off your expertise and the value of your products or services.

Be sure to edit your content. You will be more trusted if you don’t send out messages full of typos or grammatical errors.

    Segment Your Audience

Not everyone on your list will be interested in the same things. That’s where segmentation comes in.

You can divide your list into smaller groups based on factors like interests, buying behavior, or demographics. This allows you to tailor your emails to specific audiences, making them more relevant and effective.

    Provide Value

Nobody likes emails spamming them with sales pitches. Instead, focus on providing value to your subscribers. Offer them useful information, exclusive deals, or insider tips they can’t get anywhere else.

Provide value to your audience so they look forward to seeing your name pop up in their inbox.

When people see that you’re genuinely interested in helping them, they’ll be more likely to trust you and eventually buy from you.

Always Include a Call to Action

Every email should have a purpose. Whether directing people to your website, inviting them to join your Facebook group, or encouraging them to make a purchase, include a clear call to action that tells them what to do next.

Make it easy for them to take the next step. Add live links so they don’t get lost trying to take multiple steps to get where you want them to be.

    Test and Optimize

Finally, don’t forget to test and optimize your email campaigns. Pay attention to metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.

Experiment with different subject lines, content formats, and sending times to see what works best for your audience. And don’t be afraid to tweak your approach based on the results.

Remember, building a successful network marketing business takes time and effort. But with the right email campaigns in your toolkit, you’ll be well on your way to expanding your network and reaching your goals. Good luck!

But the good news is, you don’t have to chase prospects any longer if you learn how to attract them to you.

We are going to share with you 3 simple steps to a never ending flow of prospects, so you can stop prospecting and chasing the wrong people for good!

    Traditional Prospecting vs. Influence Marketing

If you’re tired of chasing friends, family, and even strangers for your network marketing business, you’re not alone.

Many people find these traditional prospecting methods not only exhausting but also largely ineffective in today’s world.

    The good news?

There’s a better way to attract the right prospects to you without the soul-crushing tactics of the past.

    Traditional Prospecting:

This method involves making a list of everyone you know, reaching out to them, and often trying to convince them to join your business or buy your product.

It might include cold calling, sending copy-paste messages to strangers, or following the “three-foot rule” where you pitch to anyone within three feet of you.

While these strategies can work, they often feel inauthentic and can be discouraging, especially for introverts.

Most people dread the idea of approaching strangers in public places or pressuring their social circle, leading to burnout and a lack of genuine connections.

    Influence Marketing:

On the flip side, influence marketing leverages social media to build a presence and attract prospects naturally.

Instead of chasing people, you create valuable content that resonates with your target audience.

This approach is about being authentic, sharing your journey, and offering real value, which naturally draws people to you.

With influence marketing, you’re not just building a business; you’re creating a community of like-minded individuals who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

Influence marketing allows you to scale your efforts without the repetitive and often uncomfortable tactics of traditional prospecting.

It feels more genuine, sustainable, and in line with modern social behaviors.

By focusing on building relationships and providing value, you can attract a steady stream of prospects who are excited to work with you, thus preserving your energy and enthusiasm for the long haul.

    The Reality of Prospecting

Traditional prospecting has been a staple in network marketing for years.

It involves reaching out to anyone and everyone, sharing information, and hoping for a positive response.

But let’s be honest, it’s a tough road, especially if you don’t already have a large audience or influence.

Let us share a little story to illustrate this.

We had a gentleman join our team who was a big name in network marketing.

He rose to the top quickly, spoke from stages, and had a powerful story.

At his first meeting, 30 people showed up, 10 signed up, and the rest is history.

His success was largely due to the influence he had already built with his audience.

For him, prospecting worked because people trusted and followed him.

But if you’re just starting out, like Brandy who was a mom of six, time and energy are in short supply.

She didn’t have the bandwidth to build an audience or network with people; she was too busy keeping her kids fed and alive.

Prospecting can work if you already have a big audience, but if you don’t, you’re likely to face a lot of rejection and frustration, which might lead you to quit.

    We experienced this firsthand.

We remember driving two and a half hours one way to prospect in malls, accosting waitresses, and attending networking events.

It was exhausting, and everyone now is glued to their cell phones.

If you’re not connecting with them through their phones, you’re not building a relationship.

There’s a study that suggests we touch our phones more than we touch our spouses.

This may be a bit sad, but it highlights where people are focusing their attention and building relationships.

Traditional prospecting, where you share your information with everyone without pre-judging, isn’t easily duplicatable.

It might have worked for some, but not for everyone.

This is where influence marketing comes into play.

Unlike traditional prospecting, influence marketing involves building genuine connections and relationships through social media and other digital platforms.

It’s about creating an endless flow of leads and prospects in a more sustainable and duplicatable way.

This approach not only fits better into the busy lives of many network marketers but also aligns with how people are currently engaging and building relationships – through their phones.

Step 0 – Finding Your Perfect Prospects

Before diving into the nitty-gritty of growing your audience and building relationships, there’s a foundational step that cannot be overlooked: finding your perfect prospects.

This step is so crucial, we call it Step 0.

It’s all about identifying the people who are already looking for what you offer, rather than trying to chase everyone and anyone.

First, understand that not everyone is your ideal customer.

If you’re offering health and wellness products, your perfect prospects are those who are conscious about their health and actively seeking to improve it.

They are willing to invest in quality products and are open to trying new things.

These individuals are not just looking for a $5 quick fix; they’re serious about their wellness journey.

A common mistake in network marketing is believing that everyone needs what you’re selling.

This mindset leads to unnecessary rejection and frustration.

Instead, focus on those who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

These perfect prospects exist; you just need to find them.

So, how do you find these perfect prospects?

Start by identifying where they hang out on social media.

Join communities and groups where health-conscious individuals gather.

Engage in conversations, offer value, and establish your presence in these spaces.

You are one of these people, so you know they are out there!

Remember, your perfect prospects are looking for solutions, and they want to invest in their health.

By focusing on them, you will attract a community of like-minded individuals who appreciate and seek out your offerings.

Step 1 – Growing Your Audience

Growing your audience is essential for a never-ending flow of prospects.

It’s not just about numbers but about attracting the right people who resonate with your message and are genuinely interested in what you offer.

Let’s dive into some effective strategies to grow your audience authentically and sustainably.

    Content and Calls to Action

Creating valuable content is the cornerstone of audience growth.

Make sure your content speaks directly to your ideal prospects’ needs and desires.

When your audience feels like you’re in their head, they’re more likely to engage.

Always include a clear call to action (CTA) in your content.

Whether it’s asking them to comment, share, or check out your link, a CTA guides your audience on what to do next and keeps the engagement flowing.

    Utilize Automation and Ads

One of our favorite methods for growing an audience is through automation and running ads.

Platforms like Facebook allow you to target specific demographics, interests, and behaviors, bringing your content to people who are most likely to be interested.

Automation can sift and sort through potential leads, ensuring your content reaches those who are a perfect fit for your message.

    However, be cautious with ads.

If you’re not familiar with running them, it’s easy to waste money or get your account shut down.

Proper training is essential before diving into paid advertising.

It’s not about boosting posts randomly but about creating well-targeted ads that convert.

    Engagement and Community Building

    Engagement is crucial.

Respond to comments, engage in conversations, and show genuine interest in your audience.

Building a community around your content makes your audience feel valued and heard.

This not only increases loyalty but also encourages word-of-mouth referrals, which are incredibly powerful.

    Consistency is Key

Consistency in posting and engaging with your audience builds trust and keeps you top of mind.

Create a content calendar to ensure you’re regularly providing value and interacting with your audience.

Over time, this consistency will pay off in audience growth and engagement.

By focusing on these strategies, you’ll be well on your way to growing an audience that not only follows you but is excited to engage and eventually become your loyal customers.

Step 2 – Building Authentic Relationships

Building authentic relationships is the heart of successful network marketing.

Authenticity is incredibly powerful—four times more powerful than love!

Yet, many network marketers struggle with this because they are too focused on immediate sales, often seeing potential customers with dollar signs in their eyes.

They hope for instant results, but that’s not how real connections work.

    Building genuine relationships takes time.

It’s not about rushing the process but nurturing it over the long term.

For example, Kat followed Brandy for a long time before she finally decided to reach out and say, “Hey, I want to work with you.”

This shows that the seeds you plant today might not bear fruit until months or even years down the line.

So, don’t rush it—focus on truly connecting with people.

Remember, step number one is constantly growing the right audience.

Many network marketers make the mistake of only promoting to friends, family, and acquaintances on social media.

This often leads to people getting annoyed and disengaging from your content.

To avoid this, continuously expand your audience with the right people—those genuinely interested in what you offer.

Think of it this way: having the right audience is like bringing fresh energy into your community.

It’s new blood, new opportunities, and a chance to launch something exciting.

Once you have the right audience, the next crucial step is building those authentic relationships.

    Don’t skip this step!

When you have a community of people who love, trust, and engage with you, you create a solid foundation for long-term success.

Imagine having a community where your audience shows up daily, asks questions, and thinks you’re amazing.

This level of engagement is possible when you focus on authenticity and truly caring about your relationships.

Authentic connections are irreplaceable in network marketing and the key to a never-ending flow of prospects.

Step 3 – Promoting Your Products and Services

Promotion is a crucial part of your journey in network marketing, but many beginners mistakenly believe that they shouldn’t mention their products at all.

This misconception can lead to frustration and a lack of sales.

Promoting your products is essential, but it must be done correctly—after you’ve found your audience and built genuine relationships.

First, let’s debunk the myth: You absolutely can and should promote your products, but it should come naturally and feel authentic.

If you’ve completed Step 0 by identifying your perfect prospects, and you’ve grown your audience and nurtured real connections, promoting your products will be a seamless and appreciated part of your interactions.

Imagine having a conversation with a friend who needs a solution to a problem.

You’ve already established trust and rapport, so when you introduce your product as a solution, it doesn’t feel pushy or salesy.

    It feels helpful and genuine.

This is the beauty of promoting after building a relationship—it’s effective and feels good for both parties.

Many network marketers skip straight to promotion without laying the groundwork.

This often leads to what we call “repelling marketing,” where prospects feel pressured and overwhelmed.

By following the steps methodically, your promotions will be welcomed and even anticipated.

Here’s the golden rule: Grow, engage, and then promote.

When done right, promoting your products to the right audience feels effortless.

It’s about offering solutions to problems, not pushing sales.

This approach has helped us build an eight-figure business by focusing on growing the right audience, engaging authentically, and promoting products as solutions.

When mastered, lead qualification is a network marketing strategy that will help you take the next step toward achieving your network marketing goals.

    Know Your Perfect Prospect Avatar

Picture your perfect prospect who resonates deeply with your product or service, engages enthusiastically with your brand, and becomes a loyal advocate.

They should be someone actively looking for products or opportunities.

This is your Perfect Prospect Avatar. Understanding your Perfect Prospect Avatar is crucial for productive lead qualification.

    Ask yourself:

    • What do they enjoy?
    • How old are they?
    • Do they have pets? A family?
    • What are their pain points?
    • What solutions are they seeking?

By aligning your efforts with the needs and desires of your Perfect Prospect Avatar, you’ll be better prepared to identify qualified leads who are genuinely interested in what you offer.

    Listen Intently, Speak Wisely

The ancient Greek philosopher Epictetus once said, “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” Wise words indeed, especially in the realm of network marketing.

When engaging with potential leads, prioritize active listening over incessant pitching.

Take the time to understand their concerns, aspirations, and motivations. Demonstrating genuine interest and empathy will build rapport and earn their trust, a foundation upon which you can build lasting relationships.

    Ask the Right Questions

Effective lead qualification is all about asking the right questions. Probe beneath the surface to uncover valuable insights that will help you determine whether a lead is worth pursuing.

    • What are their goals?
    • What challenges are they facing?
    • What timeline are they working with?

Tailor your questions to elicit meaningful responses that reveal the prospect’s level of interest, commitment, and fit for your offering.

Qualify Based on Criteria, Not Assumptions

It’s easy to fall into the trap of making assumptions about a lead’s level of interest or purchasing intent. However, relying on guesswork can lead to wasted time and energy chasing dead ends.

Instead, you should establish clear criteria for lead qualification based on measurable factors such as budget, authority, need, and timeline. By objectively assessing leads against these criteria, you can prioritize your efforts and focus on those with the highest likelihood of conversion.

    Embrace Technology

In today’s digital age, technology is your ally in the quest for qualified leads. Leverage automation tools, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and data analytics to streamline your lead qualification process.

Track prospect interactions, analyze engagement metrics, and identify patterns to refine your approach and maximize efficiency.

When you harness the power of technology, you’ll gain valuable insights that enable you to make informed decisions and drive results.

    Provide Value First, Sell Second

In the world of network marketing, value reigns supreme. Instead of leading with a sales pitch, focus on providing value to your prospects upfront. Offer valuable content, insights, and resources that address their needs and solve their problems.

The Reality of Facebook Business Pages

We understand why you moved to a Facebook business page.

You didn’t want to spam your friends and family with all your business stuff.

It made sense to promote your business on a dedicated business page.

However, it’s not the best strategy for network marketing.

Let’s talk about why your Facebook page is dead and why it’s actually not a good idea to start building your business there.

Firstly, Facebook business pages were designed for businesses to promote their products and services, but they operate on a pay-to-play model.

This means unless you put dollars behind every single post, no one is going to see them, especially if you have zero followers.

How do you even grow if no one’s going to see your posts?

    You’re not going to grow.

Organic reach is very low on business pages.

Even if you have a few followers—say your mom, your sister, your upline, and one of your downlines—not even these few people are likely to see your posts.

It’s frustrating and feels like you’re posting into a void.

    So why does this happen?

Because Facebook pages work for those who are willing to spend money on advertising.

If you’re brand new to network marketing and barely making any profit, you probably don’t have the funds to pay for advertising.

Moreover, paid advertising is not as simple as it sounds.

You need to know what you’re doing.

We’ve spent a lot of money learning how to do it properly, and while we do it successfully now, we wouldn’t recommend it to a newbie network marketer.

We’ve tried both paid and organic strategies, and we can tell you from experience that switching to organic, non-paid strategies using your personal profile made a huge difference for us.

So, why not leverage your personal profile to grow your business?

It’s a powerful tool when used correctly, and we’re here to show you how to make the most of it.

Why Your Personal Profile is Key

Your personal profile is an incredibly powerful tool that you are probably neglecting.

Many network marketers avoid using their personal profiles because they don’t want to spam their friends and family or let them know about their side gig.

If you’ve been hiding your business on a separate business page and keeping your personal profile strictly for personal connections, you’re missing out on a significant opportunity.

Many network marketers feel hesitant about using their personal profiles because they don’t want their bosses or colleagues to see their network marketing activities.

However, your personal profile, when used correctly, can achieve higher organic reach compared to business pages.

This is because personal profiles are designed to foster genuine connections and interactions, which are the backbone of successful network marketing.

Using your personal profile effectively can help you build relationships much faster.

It’s the ideal place to grow your network, build influence, and establish that crucial know, like, and trust factor with your audience.

This doesn’t mean spamming your timeline with product posts. Instead, focus on sharing content that is authentically you.

Share your interests, hobbies, and what you stand for.

Let your network get to know the real you.

When it comes to talking about your network marketing business, shift your approach from direct selling to sharing the benefits of your products and the positive impacts they have.

For example, instead of posting a product link, share a story about how the product has improved your life or solved a problem for you.

This method is much more engaging and relatable, helping to attract people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

Strategies for Using Your Personal Profile

Using your personal Facebook profile as a business tool can transform your network marketing strategy.

Here are some key strategies to leverage your profile effectively:

    Build Genuine Relationships

Your personal profile allows you to build authentic connections.

Interact with others, engage with their content, and start conversations.

This approach helps you grow a network of people who genuinely like and trust you, which is crucial for your business.

    Share Valuable Content

Instead of posting salesy promos, focus on adding value.

Share insights about the benefits of your products, the opportunities in network marketing, and tips on entrepreneurship and marketing.

This way, you position yourself as a helpful resource rather than a pushy salesperson.

    Manage Your Audience

Not everyone on your friends list is your perfect prospect.

If your boss or certain friends don’t support your business posts, it’s okay to unfriend them.

They won’t receive a notification, and you can still maintain your real-life relationships.

Your personal profile should be seen as a business tool, and it’s important to have an audience that appreciates and engages with your content.

    Engage Actively

Treat your profile as a two-way street.

Engage with others’ posts, comment, compliment, and ask questions.

This interaction will prompt them to check out your profile and engage with your content, creating a cycle of mutual support and visibility.

    Clean Your Friends List

Regularly review your friends list and remove those who are not engaging or who don’t fit your target audience.

This will help your posts reach more people who are likely to be interested in your content.

    Be Authentic

    Share your true self.

Don’t feel pressured to maintain a perfect image.

Authenticity resonates more with people and builds stronger, more genuine connections.

    Promote Thoughtfully

Once you’ve built a targeted audience and established relationships, don’t be afraid to promote your products and services.

If you’ve provided value and built trust, your audience will be receptive to your promotions without seeing you as salesy.

By following these strategies, you can turn your personal profile into a powerful marketing tool that attracts and engages your ideal prospects, helping you grow your network marketing business effectively.
